Well, "dsmart", if that really is Mr. Practiced-Smirk (could've swore it was a different login name previously, and generally "official" names/developers who visit here get a green tag, but then again you're not really a... I digress), it's not about not caring. 'Not caring' in this case is the same thing as embracing it - with a purchase. So try again. And it's already quite established that it does fuck with people's systems, so you're wrong there, too. A gamer who doesn't care about the concerns of fellow gamers is a rather lame gamer.

I don't think, I know, you silly cretin. Unlike you and your ilk, I post based on facts, not conjecture. Show me one link to a working cracked UCG or UCAWA game and I won't post here for a year. That's my point numbnuts - you're doing your typical 'moving goal posts'. I can do the same - show me one link to a working crack for GalCiv 2. No, really, I'll wait all year. Come up with one.
Obviously you can't, because it can't be 'cracked', since there's no need. The fact that your games haven't been 'cracked' doesn't mean they haven't been 'warezed', because 'warez' no longer requires cracks. Thanks to clonecds and daemon tools or alcohol 120%, it's simple to get a copy of the cd, mount it, and play the game. Whether you want to admit it or not, that has happened to your games. Although you're right, you'd have a hard time finding them because they are so shitty that people don't even want to play them for free - but that's another issue.

note: If you really think your games haven't been 'warezed', you are even more delusional than previously thought - although you do a nice job of side-stepping the issue by using the word 'cracked'

@space captain thats because nobody plays your games in the first place
Hey, forum clown, tell that to my bank account. Fool.
@MyRealName
why don't one among their gaggle explain what it is that you love about Starforce?
Some of you are as dense as a bowl of fruit. Who said anything about loving a DRM? Its not about loving it. Its about not caring. As long as it works and does not interfere with people's system, there's nothing to it.

Since it always comes down to this, when the Whining Defenders of Starforce Fanboi Committee inevitably arrives, why don't one among their gaggle explain what it is that you love about Starforce? We've told you why we detest it, and boycott titles which employ it, and will raise voices every time we need to. Why is it you defend a company which:
1. are making asses out of themselves - they don't even need help (link one of many within this thread), 2. are getting called down by fans, pulled by developers, and questioned by media (link one of many within this thread), 3. operate by fucking with paying customer's rights, while not bothering pirates much at all (common sense, read the link in sig), and more?
What do you like about them? Having no problems yourself yet? Fair enough; but your fellow gamers are. Are you therefore not interesting in gamers' rights and interests as a united group? For shame. Are you an employee, or financially linked to starforce? Perhaps you like stealth drivers fucking with your peripherals? What exactly is it that makes you want to bend over for them publicly?

Define 'let'. What are your alternatives? It's not like you have the ability to stop them from posting (that I know of), so beyond telling them to shut up, which hasn't proven terribly effective, what else do you plan to do?
That's my point, really. The only rational way to stop them from posting is to stop making it worth their while. But it's your call, I only find it mildly annoying at this point (and I agree with the message, even if misplaced). Feel free to continue to bait them if you think that'll help. I'm just pointing out that it won't.

Or, I suppose I could go with 'common sense', but that's becoming rare enough to be 'uncommon sense' these days. But even fanatics are going to get tired of complaining if it appears no one is paying them any attention. The reason they keep complaining is because it's obvious people are listening, and willing to argue about it. Nothing spurs on a fanatic like a challenge. Ok, so whats your common sense prediction? A week? A month? A year? How long should we let this shit go on?

The Enlight version absolutely has Starforce in it. Any reports to the contrary are false.
@dsmart - Every Starforce game has been 'warezed' as well. There is, in fact, no game that hasn't been 'warezed'. So the fact that GC2 has been is no surprise. The reality is that GC2 is selling exceptionally well with no real copy-protection on the game itself.
note: If you really think your games haven't been 'warezed', you are even more delusional than previously thought - although you do a nice job of side-stepping the issue by using the word 'cracked'. Obviously GC2 hasn't been 'cracked' either, as there is nothing to crack. So it can make the same claim that you make about your games. Futilely, as the case may be, because as previously stated, all the games have been 'warezed' in some form.
@nin - Yes, I admit, the endless SF bashing in every thread is annoying. But no less so than the endless SF-bashing bashing that takes place. I mean, do you really need to complain about it in every thread (yes, that was friendly sarcasm, in case that didn't come across)? It's not going to die down as long as people continue to argue about it, so why not just nod your head and ignore it - it will then proceed to go away (if everyone does it).

Wow, you know what happened? I was actually referring to SpellForce 2 in the wrong thread. Yes, X3 US does indeed have StarForce. SpellForce 2 Euro has SF, but US will use Tages. Woops. Uh oh.. careful, PA -- by admitting your error, you're setting some dangerous precedents around here

Are you certain that the U.S. version from Enlight has no Starforce in it? I have read comflicting reports, plus Enlight put StarForce in Scrapland. Wow, you know what happened? Only the Euro version is using SF so I'll probably pick this up when it comes out in North America. Are you certain that the U.S. version from Enlight has no StarForce in it? I have read conflicting reports on that, plus Enlight put StarForce in Scrapland.
