D&D Online European Launch

Turbine Picks Codemasters for the European Launch of the Lord of the Rings Online(TM) Shadows of Angmar(TM) is the press release with more Euro MMO news, as Dungeons & Dragons Online has launched in Europe:

WESTWOOD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2006--Turbine, Inc. announced today that The Codemasters Software Company Limited will distribute and operate the online service for The Lord of the Rings Online(TM): Shadows of Angmar(TM) in Europe. Under the agreement, Codemasters will be responsible for the distribution, hosting, community management, technical support, and billing for the title. This announcement follows Turbine's previous selection of Codemasters to provide European support for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE(TM): Stormreach(TM), the highly anticipated online virtual world currently scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2006.

"Codemasters' top-notch distribution experience and passion for online gaming make it the right choice for The Lord of the Rings Online(TM) in Europe," explained Jeffrey Anderson, president and CEO of Turbine. "We look forward to working with Codemasters on both launches."

A) I wish people would learn the tags and conventions of this forum. On a daily basis our way and lore is eroded by /. memes and foreign bracketting.

B) Codemasters was always responsible for the European launch. They're been running the Beta since the get go and this is just an announcement to keep DDO on the radar. I logged into the beta three times and just didn't have the urge to go back. It's nice but the party heavy thing, while predictable, is a turn-off for me.

Blue's title for this article is a bit misleading. The article is stating that Codemasters has been chosen for the European launch of LOTR:Online, following Turbine's previous selection of Codemasters to provide Euro support for DDO.

Edit: It's about the upcoming Euro launch, not that it launched.

"This announcement follows Turbine's previous selection of Codemasters to provide European support for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE(TM): Stormreach(TM), the highly anticipated online virtual world currently scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2006".

Bah, who cares.

Where exactly does it say DDO has launched in Europe?
