Battlefield 2 Patch Plans, Euro Force Delayed

The Battlefield 2 Website (thanks Frans) indicates that they are "working around the clock" to resolve the issues in version 1.2 of Battlefield 2 and plan beta testing to "ensure a clean release of version 1.21." In related news, this will again push back the release of the BF2 Euro Force Booster pack. Ironically, the version 1.2 patch was also delayed to address longstanding issues with the game, and the delay to that patch was the cause of the previous delay to the booster pack. Euro Forces was last slated for "the latter half of February" (story), but is now delayed "until sometime after the release of the updated 1.21 patch."

You know what I do if I can't get to a sniper because of a claymore? Stay the fuck out of his line of fire.

Listen up retards: If game companies tweaked these games so that every aspect of them was somehow "fair" or "easy", every game would be called Halo. lol

"

People just get pissed because sneaking up on a sniper isn't as simple as run up to and stab.

People don't get pissed because of this. They get pissed because claymores are undisarmable and indestructable. If an engineer could wrench a claymore and disarm it, or special forces use C4 to blow it up, I don't think it'd be as much of an issue. But the fact that once a claymore is placed it is permanent is quite a concern. Me and a friend usually get around this by going in twos, but it still sucks to have to rack up a death just to get to a sniper."

Pff. I rest my case...

Whaaaa! I have to watch what I'm doing when hunting snipers now. I have to rack up a death to get him Whaaa. Suck it up bitch you'll have to watch your step now. Pair up all you like, that's why I have 2 Claymores at a time.

People aren't buying them for no reason, they just enjoy the underlying gameplay enough that they are willing to slog through stupid things like a broken server browser.

In other words... people will pay $50+ for a game that still isn't up to release quality almost a year after its release, just for the same tired gameplay that has barely improved over BF1942 (ooo, we can grind to unlock weapons now! whoopee!). And if I'm not mistaken BF1942 and BFV had similar QA problems, and were developed by the same company...

Gamers are sheep.

sorry if i dont act like the majority here, and everywhere, that likes to bash stuff all the time. I have no problems in saying that i do play BF2, i do like the game, and despite EA being behind it, i couldn't care less, even though they pretty much suck in almost every aspect.

I was playing the game yesterday and i picked the kit from dead snipers that were using it, and being myself someone who fonds the sniper position, that weapon was really nice. And i got really good results too. The sound it makes is less obstructive than the M95, which does a horrible sound.

So, that is my experience, and i'm sorry if i don't act like everyone else. I do like to show some love every now and then, and since when being a gamer is all about trashing everything and everyone? Those who do that should seriously re-evaluate their maturity levels..

after seeing that new sniper gun i almost wanted to buy the SF expansion, but seeing that it will be available on the booster pack, i will certainly buy it. That gun is HOT! Deadly, sounds perfectly, fast, and small.

Thing is, will this weapon be like.. unlockable, and then be able to use of normal servers?

I haven't had any issues with the patch and I feel that it has really improved the infantry combat. The air vehicles no longer utterly dominate and the C4 tossing was just plain stupid.
It also made the G3 a viable gun for the Assault class.

I like this patch a lot.

The CRTC needs to be destroyed.

Hey, that's unfair! As people in this thread have argued, the BF2 expansion didn't really improve anything.

EA is really milking this game with those patches, I mean, really!

"Hey, don't worry everyone, it will get better, but it will only get better when we release this new expansion pack for $29.99 and a patch. Whoops, sorry about that, we broke it, BUT, we will release another patch, but only after you buy our next expansion for $19.99."

The thing is, even though there is a lot that is terrible about BF2, there is a lot that is really great. People aren't buying them for no reason, they just enjoy the underlying gameplay enough that they are willing to slog through stupid things like a broken server browser.

It wasn't just bullet drop, sometimes you'd hit to either side of where you were aiming, because of the bullet deviation. It was especially noticible with the m95. It wasn't a big deal except at long ranges when someones head is pretty tiny.

Take me about a full magazine if someone is really far away. I do 1-2 shot bursts. You see the reticle change from a 4 pt star to an 8 pt star, you know you are hitting them. I am not very happy with my SF purchase, and I won't be purchasing anything else from them for BF2. They dun pissed me off enough.

I noticed the level markers spread around, but I didn't really mind them much.

The worst thing with 1.2 is the rockets going through stuff and the sometimes silly missile pathing, but I really like the more potent AA and the less potent air vehicles and I don't really have any problems with claymores being untouchable save giving them some kamikaze-love.

Just bring on the hotfix and the booster pack and I'm gonna ravage the landscape in my Leo2.

Ranked servers have killed the mods for bf2, alot of people dont want to play on unranked ones because they dont get thier stats.. so sad.. Plus people don't even see the custom map servers because they filter out for ranked ones. It would have been nice to have a base level server browser that allowed you to join a moded server without having to restart bf2.

I have to admit I've seen no problems so far with the new patch. For me the best thing is that you can actually shoot down aircraft now on occasion. Planewhoring was becoming stupidly tedious, now I'd suggest its about right.
Having bought, and then uninstalled Special Forces, I may skip the new packs though. I didnt think that SF had enough in it to make it worthwhile.
I still dont see why there arent any modded levels for BF2??

EA just fired a bunch of people, they probably got rid of the ones who were actually working at the company. I can just imagine it,

EA peeon: "but sir we can't release this patch yet, it still has bugs"

EA Corporate Stooge: "you're not a team player are you? you're fired!"

EA, what the hell is wrong with you? I know what it is. It's the same thing that's wrong with America: CORPORATE GREED!

We have to deal with this shit from our President, our energy providers, our broadband companies, and now the game industry too has become a corporate shit factory like Hollywood and MTV.

Games used to be alot better when they were made by freaks, weirdos, and rocket scientists. Now they're made by corporate stormtroopers.

If you want to run a "business" go and work at Microsoft or open up a whorehouse! Self-involved, egomaniacal cokehead business-types, like the kind that run EA have no business (no pun intended) managing game projects! They don't even bother playing the product. It's pretty obvious they haven't checked that even their fucking patch system, let alone the patch features themselves, still doesn't work almost a year after release!
