GPL GtkRadiant

Timothee Besset's .plan file has news that the Radiant Website now offers the release of the GtkRadiant edition program and source code under the terms of the GPL. Also included in the new GPL release is q3map2 as well as a number of Quake II tools that were not released when the game itself went freeware. Word is: "GtkRadiant is the heavily modified version of QERadiant and Q3Radiant ( id's level editors used during Quake II and Quake III Arena development ). It runs on Microsoft Windows platforms, GNU/Linux, MacOS X, and supports level editing for many id technology games."

AFAIK none of iD's games have ever been made freeware.
Quake, Quake 2 and Quake 3 have been made opensource but that is not the same thing.
