D&D does cause violent behavior, just look what happened to Tom Hanks in "Mazes and Monsters".

Prohibition did (and does) cause violent behavior, through several well-understood mechanisms.

A causal link between video gaming and violence has yet to be established, despite the claims of a few statistically naive psychologists.

You also forgot movies, television and Dungeons & Dragons as societal evils in dire need of being stamped out before they corrupt the youth of our nation!

This is just another poorly designed "study" created solely to support a conclusion that the conductors of said "study" had already come to and wanted to support. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Jack Thompson helped fund this nonsense.

History of blaming entertainment for violence in America:

1900s - Burlesque causes violence!
1930s - Jazz causes violence!
1950s - Rock & Roll causes violence!
1970s - Punk Rock causes violence!
1980s - Heavy Metal causes violence!
1990s - Hip Hop causes violence!
2000+ - Games cause violence!

Hitler was an Opera fan. George Bush likes Country music.

Of course there's a link between violent video games and violent behavior:
People who are predisposed to violence are more likely to play violent video games. That should be common sense. The association does not lend itself to a statement of causality.
