Take Two Gets Irrational

Report Take-Two Acquires Irrational Games on Gamasutra is an unconfirmed report suggesting that Irrational Games has been acquired by Take-Two Interactive (thanks Frans). Here's a bit:

According to unconfirmed reports from employees of developer Irrational Games, the company has been acquired by U.S. publisher Take-Two Interactive. The two companies have already been working in close conjunction, with Take-Two registering the trademark for and agreeing to publish Irrational’s forthcoming game BioShock.

Update: We have been able to confirm this news with Take-Two, who say an official announcement is forthcoming.

Interesting that Take-Two acquired these guys and not VU since Irrational has released almost nothing that wasn't under VU and I don't think they've ever had anything published by Take-Two. You'd think VU would have snapped these guys up when they had the chance, but I'm really glad that given the choice, Take-Two got them instead.

EDIT: Oops, didn't notice that Take-Two is publishing BioShock.
