I don't see a reason to spam his email. What we do here should be left here. That's why I don't go looking for that kind of profile stuff. I made a link to it the other day. I know it's there. If I were a real stalker, I'd read through all 963 of his posts & find out his name & other information from his previous communications. The insult war has nothing to do with anything. It's just a way for us to laugh at each other. It's like playing knuckles or mercy. No one wins but it's still fun.
The only thing I do know for a fact right now is that Batman is ugly. But that's the only thing you can count on right now. I'm very high on some liquid. But I do know that Batman is ugly. He probably has a car, house, wife, and all that stuff. But when I come down, I'll be sober, and he'll still be ugly.

I have a damn good filter. My e-mail has been in my profile for some time, so it's no secret. I get so much spam in my accounts already, one more (if that is what happens) isn't a factor.
If someone were to want to attack me via e-mail, ignore or block is a great feature.

Actually, I wouldn't mind that at all. Life is highly overrated.
To be honest, if this were to come back someday and bite us in the ass, I would feel bad.

Then why dont you keep your mouth shut about US laws? Is this thread about a Canadian law??
Dumbfuck
It takes a man to admit when he is wrong. And I've done that. Too bad you are incapable of doing the same. Wow, this thread exploded since I last read it. Anyway, my original point that got blown off earlier (since it was incorrectly believed that movie ratings are enforced in the U.S.) is that I think its a weak argument to say that just because you aren't acting the violence/sex and only watching the violence/sex, there shouldn't be enforced penalities for movies (if you are lobbying for enforced penalities for games).
I'm not making a stand on whether or not there should be penalities, just noting the hypocrisy.
As for Halo getting an M, you aren't forcing you're character to swear, and hearing swearing is fine for PG-13 movies. As for "acting" the violence, there are plenty of T rated games (PG-13 equivalent) that exhibit violence even against fellow humans (007 for example), whereas Halo is conducted only against aliens. My point was that the actual rating of games currently has a poor uncertain process where it seems that some games are rated higher than need be.
I think that as the population ages and those who rate the games are actually from a generation that consumes the media, we'll see games more accurately rated.

Garbage in - Garbage out |

As a person who has an extensive pornography collection; I'd like to say that ****EVERYTHING**** has an impact on my thoughts. When I see a girl, I can clearly see an imaginary version of her without clothes. Also, I can contemplate raping her in an abandoned building or a car under a freeway somewhere.
Because I've watched movies like Se7en, I can think about torturing someone for a year with a cigarette and rationed food and water to barely keep them existing.
Because of video games, if for some reason (the world goes to shit) that I have to steal to live & one day end up killing people to survive, then I might think about shooting their bodies a couple more times... you know, sort of like the "FUCK YOU!" statement a lot of us do on Counter-Strike. Or I might leave a picture I printed on the corpse, sort of like a custom spraypaint for CS.
Because of the music I've listened to, I can laugh at short people, think of killing people for almost no reason, look at women as nothing more that a place to put my dick, and flip off God, all the while believing I'm cool while I tap my feet to the beat of the music.
****EVERYTHING**** has an impact on my thoughts
I leave you now with lyrics from Pink Floyd - Eclipse
All that you touch All that you see All that you taste All you feel. All that you love All that you hate All you distrust All you save. All that you give All that you deal All that you buy, beg, borrow or steal. All you create All you destroy All that you do All that you say. All that you eat And everyone you meet All that you slight And everyone you fight. All that is now All that is gone All that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

There's no proof that voilent media has ever, and can ever corrupt anyone. Chances are such proof will never exist, because a fucked up kid is made up of much more than the games they play. Violent media would be such a small insignificant part of the 'causation' pie that even then it would have an insignificant effect on violence, school shootings, etc...
But the media has to have something to point their fingers at, and none of the real causations for the problems are as concrete as games, not to mention there's no political points or money in the real causes for the lawyers/politicians involved.

Long before your kid can ever want to play Postal 2, he should understand the difference between right and wrong, and entertainment and reality. If you're putting effort and thought into raising your kid, no video game or movie can spoil him somehow. And if you're not, then banning movies or videogames sure won't make it any better.
Finally, a sensible and non-trolling comment on this topic.
Letting kids have what they want, people's rights to have kids, who worked for EB, who's a trolling asshole, what the government can and should do about it.... none of this stuff matters if your kids can recognise the difference between fact and fiction, and right and wrong.

The government is trying to put laws on it BECAUSE it is not self enforced. If it was, do you think they would be having this problem right now? Probably not. The last study showed that R rated DVDs were sold more frequently to minors than games. Shouldn't that be attacked first?

And how is a parent - busy as they are - supposed to have the time to monitor every piece of music and video games the kid wants? Christ, the kid doesn't even have enough time for that himself. gasp!! maybe they should have thought of that before having kids? who the fuck said you HAD to have kids?! or are you just having kids cuz of peer pressure and this perception that our society seems to have that if you're not married and a parent by 30 that somehow something is wrong with you?
you also mention of the things the kid *wants.* Wait a minute...aren't you the parent? aren't *YOU* supposed to decide what the kid gets...not the kid? who's running the show here...the kid..or you?
I reject the idea that parenthood is a right Parenthood is the singlemost important job in this universe and if you don't have the time, the money, and the emotional awareness to care for your offspring...then you simply shouldn't be a parent...end of story. Too often people allow themselves to become parents because its apparently a social rite of passage in today's society...*FUCK THAT*
the burden is on the parents...end of discussion.

I'm yet to see a single shred of proof in this thread that R-rated movies, or AO rated games have any negative effect on anybody of any age. Prove that first.

This is NOT about irresponsible parents so much as it as industry trying to make a fast buck because they refure to honestly police themselves. wait...huh?
Is the indutry supposed to have say over each and every sale...how its sold and to whom? They've come up with what most rational people agree as a pretty accurate system of ratings to give parents some sort of idea of its appropriateness. Its quite elegant, no cops, no big brother, no fines. In what way is this dishonest? Would it make you feel better if they made zero profits? How would you suggest to better the current system? By once again giving government free reign over an area it has absolutely no business sticking its nose in?

And how is a parent - busy as they are - supposed to have the time to monitor every piece of music and video games the kid wants? They *gasp* make the time talk to them and find out what their kids are interested in. No one said the job of being a parent was easy, even through that seems to be the expectation lately.
