whatever happened to the fucking tech demo they were showing in like '97 that had destructible geometry?

why? you want that now ugly engine back instead of this?

Destructable geometry currently isn't anything more than a gimmick IMO. I can't think of any game that had it where it made a significant difference in my enjoyment of the game.

That E3 trailer is pretty cool. I like the use (and look) of the portals and also the changing gravity/perspective with those lit walkways and such. The way you return to the game after dying is neat too. Better than having to reload.

Vaporware comments aren't deserving.

The name and idea has been around for a while, but the Human Head game has had a normal production life.

For a shooter, it has some original ideas in it. Will be nice to see someone implement the DOOM 3 engine in a way that doesn't look plastic. Am I the only person who thinks DOOM 3 and Quake 4 look like someone went in with a virtual can of laquer and sprayed it over everything in the game?

The nasty shit known as Specular Lighting. It's been abused by a lot of modern games lately, but don't worry, the era of specular mapping everything is almost over. The games utilizing the newer engines appear to be doing specular right.

I think this game has lots of promise. Drives me nuts. In my opinio, the inferior graphics of Battlefield 2 look better than the fake looking crap in DOOM 3. I hope they avoid making ET:QW look like plastic shite too.

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.

Crappy movie though. Hard to top that E3 video I guess.

What did you expect? It was made for G4TV so they had to crapify it.

Hey, I think the game looks pretty good. At least way better than Quake 4.

This game will have large expansive areas....you can easily see that just by watching something other than this pretty weak trailer.

Why would anyone look forward to this? It was just overhyped vaporware...somethign 3DR specializes in.

The Prey you see now is not the same Prey that 3DR created. This one will actually be released.

It is odd.. the original Doom had many outdoor-type environments, or at least well-lit environments. Same with Quake, Q2, and Q3. Yet, id decides to go completely dark in Doom 3, and it fails miserably. Fools!

Weak link in this seems to be the doom engine, I recall more outdoor enviroment game in the 90's version, now it looks like doom3, sigh.
Why would any development company pick such a limited game engine, boggles the mind to no end.
