- UT2007
Jeff
Morris on UT2007 on Computer and Video Games is a Q&A with Epic about
the next installment in the shooter series: "We playtest it every day.
Playtesting early in production can sometimes be a challenge because it's
ugly or doesn't run well, but what we do is catch little movement things.
For example, we felt that the Manta craft was flying too low and conforming
to the terrain too much, which was kinda nauseating. We raised the Manta up
slightly, so now you feel really good when you're flying around, and when
you jump, you feel like you're jumping. You have to have vehicles that are
fun to drive even if there's nothing else going on."
- BF2: Special Forces
“Special
Forces” Sent in For New Battlefield 2 Expansion Pack on GameZone talks
about DICE's upcoming military shooter expansion with David Yee: "One of the
things that we have done with the levels for Battlefield 2: Special Forces
is to take advantage of more location-based maps instead of having them deal
with the more open strategic fronts. For example, some of the maps include
an airport, submarine pen and an aircraft carrier."
- City of Villains
OGaming's
Jack Emmert Q&A talks with Cryptic Studios designer Jack Emmert about
the follow-up to City of Heroes: "In City of Villains, heroes and villains
are relatively equal. What differs is that they have different methods of
going about their goals. Villains tend to be more offensively oriented.
They’re all about eliminating the enemy before the enemy can fight back.
Heroes focus on teamwork and rely on their allies to help overcome
adversaries."

I hope they charge LESS for the dvd version this time, so we can encourage the mainstream switch.
