Our Gunnar is a delightful doggie, he has been ever since he came into our lives. In fact, about the worst thing I can say about him (besides his penchant for occasionally smelling like a pony, which is of course the fault of my grooming as much as anything) is that he has this habit of playing alarm clock as soon as he wakes up. Normally this is no big deal as I am an early riser, but on weekends and such too much wake-up yapping can be a little oppressive. Recently, however, I've discovered a way of addressing this problem, as by simply reaching down and patting him on the head I can get him to settle back down until something stimulates him again, earning 10-15 minutes of peace. I can get him to chill out every time he gets going with this, making him a pretty full-featured alarm clock, snooze alarm and all. Now if I could just find the wake-to-music feature, we'd be set.
