Ships Ahoy - The Matrix: Path of Neo

There is now spoon, and there was no gold announcement, but there is this announcement (thanks Frans) revealing that The Matrix: Path of Neo is shipping, and that Shiny's second game based on The Matrix movies is now available in the U.S. Here's a bit:

THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO is the first and only Matrix game that lets gamers take on the role of Neo and become "The One" by reliving his most important and memorable scenarios from the blockbuster motion picture trilogy of The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions from Warner Bros. Pictures. THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO is rated 'T' for Teen and is also available for purchase at www.thematrixpathofneo.com.

"THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO delivers the interactive Matrix experience fans have been waiting for -- now they can confront the challenges Neo faced and control their own gaming outcome with new, never-before-seen story responses and a completely new Matrix ending written and directed by the Wachowski brothers," said Marc Metis, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Atari, Inc. "The 'bullet time(TM)' special effects, martial arts combat and Hollywood-style action sequences re-created in THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO are sure to delight long-time franchise fans and appeal to new consumers."

Dark City is the movie your thinking of, a very good movie even now, go rent it if you havent see it.

While Dark City and The Matrix are both similar movies, to say that The Matrix stole its entire concept from Dark City would be wrong. It would be like Armageddon stole its idea from Deep Impact.

It's shipping today and you've already rented it? Did I miss something here?
Either the announcement is late, or for the PC version or something, but without a doubt I rented it for the PS2.

I'm looking forward to this. Yeah, the first game had its flaws, but it was still enjoyable. I've read some pretty good previews for it, so i may rent it before purchasing.

This one looks decent, it looks like what the game should have been (or just a working game period,) but the brother/sister really screwed over the franchise and Shiny, frankly, are incompetent assholes given the state of the last game.

I really want a demo of this one. I might touch it given the word of reviews, but they need to be GREAT reviews.

For all the crap the company pulled in the past, one would think Shiny might be, oh, proactive in courting the fans and community? No demo means very little chance of purchase...
The first movie was on yesterday - sooooo much better than the rest.
Wondering if Shiney finally made a good game,
Ray

Am I the only one looking forward to this game?! I'm still a huge Matrix (part 1) fanboy and this game's getting decent reviews so I just might buy it. Atari needs more money anyways.

Rented this one yesterday, and I'm just not sure who should be more ashamed, Shiny for making it, or me for renting it after having rented Enter the Matrix.

Didn't it turn out that they stole the first movie from somebody? Makes more sense like that.

I want to read reviews on this game. Some article I read, I think in Computer Gaming World, said this game was more about what they should have done in the first game, let players actually be neo. And they gave the impression that it was looking very good....

But yes this franchise is a rotting corpse in the closet now. Painful to even think that something with so much potential died to pitifully.

Where is my Xbox 360!?!

I'm really interested in the game. Its had decent reviews so it looks like a rental at least. I'd prefer to see a full review from IGN or Gamespot first.

The Matrix brought Shiny down. Didn't they get a small fortune on the first one?

But it turned them from a revered name (of sorts) to a bad word.

College courses should be taught on the Matrix. Not on the substance of the movie, but how two idiots managed to create something everyone loved and some worshipped and managed to quickly run it into the ground, to the point where the franchise has next to no real worth.
