Marketing guys in general seem to love 'dynamic'. If they can't actually come up with any 'dynamic' copy to sell you on their product, they'll just stick the word 'dynamic' in there. Let the would-be consumer make up his own advertisement! BRILLIANT

Is it me or is there a more used yet completely ambiguous word in gaming then "dynamic"?

Camera perspective is way off - I know what it is, but still feels more like a zoomed in RTS (the outdoor bits) than FPS.

Otherwise...kind of reminds me of some Quake 3 levels with Unreal Tournament (I am talking a few years back) visuals.
    Or early...certainly not "advanced."
Guessing it could be ok if it is a cheap license,
    Ray

I guess it's pretty hard to make an engine out of scratch these guys, so if they can match the quality to that of the games currently out now then you've got to give them some cred.

Well, this page says there's 643 3D engines on their list:

    http://cg.cs.tu-berlin.de/~ki/engines.html

Why, just the other day I found a 3D engine in my box of Fruit Loops.

Seriously, that music was terrible. Four ascending notes in the bass. Marvelous.

Another case of some techno knob twiddler playing with orchestral samples to no avail!

methinks this is another case of a Polish, Croat, Ukraine, Russian, East European dev house popping up becasue they know Western Publishers will jump on a low-wage developer.

Give 'em a bloody chance. They're new developers starting out, so what their website looks like shite. In a couple of years, they're either gone or making better games. A bit of encouragement doesn't harm anybody. Sometimes I feel new devs shouldn't even bother to get on Bluesnews 'cause they'll only get slagged off

Wait a sec, Unko. I've seen press releases from small launches get a warm reception on Blues before. But then, those releases better-described what the game was. So not all "little guy" outfits get slagged off, only the poorly-worded and ill-thought-out ones get that treatment.

In fact, reading enough Blues boards will give you a very complete education on what to include (and exclude) from your press release.

...beginning of its new FPS development process.

I am presuming that, while they are trying to push out a game with this, this is all more to advertise a commercial engine than a specific game.

If not, this is the land of generic-ness.

  • You do stuff.

  • In an arena.

  • With weapons.

  • Against mobs that jump to the side.

  • Weak MP tacked onto a lackluster SP (or vice versa.)

  • Music. More than one track.

  • It all sounds fine, but the proof will be in the pudding.
    :o,
    Ray

I tell you what: If there is even half as much gameplay in Burn as there is in the sentence I quoted, you can expect this one to sweep the next Spike-TV awards.
