Hot Pursuit 1 was truly the best of the cop chase nfses, the cop difficulty was just right, decent selection of cars, beautiful tracks... if this new one can capture half the magic of HP1 I'd be impressed. And for god's sake Jim, bring back the spike strips!

EDIT: actually my bad, best was High Stakes. got the titles mixed up

Agreed. I played ALL of the NFS games, and Porsche Unleashed was the best in my opinion. I had some fun with Underground 2, but it got old after a short while.

I agree, that was the best (gameplay) NFS made, porsche unleashed was the last one worth buying, everything else has been sub-par, hot pursuit 2 was a POS.

I agree with that as well. I miss the numbered series of old. Porsche Unleashed was great and then the ones that followed were not.

EA has consistently ignored what what people have been howling for like muscle cars. Half of the people couldn't care less about modern tuners.

Erm, remember Motor City Online? I'm glad NFS is slowly going back to their roots of exotic sportscars. Sure, Most Wanted will have some ricers and you can even rice up your SLR McLaren, but unlike the Underground games, that is not the focus. I'm also really happy that pursuit is getting attention and that the cops aren't completely worthless. The PSX version of NFS3 was the one that got me hooked on the series because the cops were so psychotic and vicious. In the PC versions of all the following games, the cops were too realistic, as in completely worthless.

Really though, I find it silly to condemn a game before even playing it.

The original Hot Pursuit is still my favorite.

Jesus put down the CS and cheer the fuck up man.

I'm really looking forward to this title... even though the last one was a let down for me.

a) I've played CSS twice in the last 10 days. So don't claim you know shit about me.

b) I don't think System Requirements for a game (demo) is news. Don't like it? I have a right to make a comment about it, so get over it. It's not like I was posting some troll bullshit about a game I have yet to even play.

More of the same stuff in the last two. I didn't buy either of them either.

You don't even get many of the cars and tracks if you just buy the regular edition.

EA is yanking the servers for multiplayer for Underground and some of the older NFS games. They will probably do the same for this one before long to try and force people into buying their next game.

EA has consistently ignored what what people have been howling for like muscle cars. Half of the people couldn't care less about modern tuners. They should have put the cops back in in the last game (in fact, they shouldn't have left them out of Underground). I don't recommend supporting this bs with your money. There are much better racing games out there now.

The original Hot Pursuit is still my favorite. Supercars that have some physics to them, dashboard view, varied tracks, great music and just no BS generally speaking.

They tried to recapture it with Hot Pursuit 2, but it just didn't feel right (the demo track was the only good one), too aracdey, and helis dropping barrels is a bit over the top.

I didn't mind the whole 'trick out your ride' stuff... You could come up with some pretty nice looking stuff... Though mostly, it was just about picking whatever gave you the most stars...

But those games added something else that previous NFS games lacked... A storyline ; )

Sure.. it was a comic... it was cheesy... but they have to start somewhere...

Open City Enviroment with the Pursuit/Cop stuff of Hot Pursuit. Just have to see when the demo is out cause like most EA sites it's a FLASH ridden mess to navigate.

Driver anyone? I still play that one.

The examples I saw were driving under a log truck causing it to lose its load on the road, and knocking over crates and barrels that will slow down pursuers.

I think they dropped most of that didn't they?
From what I've seen, they haven't really dropped it at all, they've just thrown cops into the mix instead of being able to race around town with no consequences. The world is also supposed to be 'interactive' this time, eg: an alert will flash on your minimap of an interactive spot, and by driving over to it you can trigger an event that will help you. The examples I saw were driving under a log truck causing it to lose its load on the road, and knocking over crates and barrels that will slow down pursuers.
