Out of the Blue

I held off this update until the witching hour, because Frans tipped me off that midnight would see the release of the first F.E.A.R. patch, so it seemed easy enough to coordinate getting that covered. So if you have just rushed home from midnight madness at the software store and are looking for a patch, never f.e.a.r.

I got crappy Guild Wars. Now you go buy NOLF 2.

LMAO! Sounds fair to me, nin. Nin should get NOLF2; nin might be surprised at it's quirky fun. Nin needs to give Monolith shooters a chance, methinks.

EDITS: ugh, 2 edits for two sentences!

If they wanna throw it in the box for free, they can.

Pfftt, it really had nothing to do with Goldeneye. Yeah, you are both spys and FPS games, but that is about it.

NOLF was much more creative, but NOLF 2 really smoothed out a lot of the rough parts and is a much better game.
I can find many funny thins with GW.

Oops, I didn't know this OotB was limited to FEAR discussion only

Yep you are right, thought this was the FEAR patch thread. Notice the "Don't FEAR" title in the Popular Threads list, rather than "OotB...".

Since I have no influence on the official PR for the project, I have no idea when (if?) Blue posts a link to it, so I thought a quick note in today's OotB might not hurt.

I'm interested. Sounds cool to me...

How about we ignore this and talk about it when it has it's own thread instead of derailing a FEAR thread?

Oops, I didn't know this OotB was limited to FEAR discussion only. In fact I think I read about pumpkins, X3, Batman Begins and a couple other non-FEAR-related things in this thread.

Since I have no influence on the official PR for the project, I have no idea when (if?) Blue posts a link to it, so I thought a quick note in today's OotB might not hurt.

Feel free to ignore it, though.

Edit - looks like I don't have a digital picture of the Darth Maul pumpkin - may not have taken one at all.

I could have sworn you posted that last year...

Dude, nin, this is the second time I shall suggest you are on crack.

I could understand that if you just did not like FPS games, but if you are a FPS fan, you have no allowance to dislike No One Lives Forever, No One Lives Forever 2, and F.E.A.R..

NOLF didn't do a thing for me. It seemed like a rehash of GoldenEye...didn't bother w/ the second one. Ninjas in a trailer park? Um, ok.

edit: Shogo was kinda fun.

Hi guys,

I'm sure the official press release will be posted by Blue later today, but since the team got permission to spread the word and many people here speculated about the game for the past months, here's the official site:

http://www.blackwidowgames.com

Personally I think Neil and his team did a bloody great job so far, and I was more than happy to contribute the website to the project.

Since this is the most reliable gaming discussion site I frequent, please let us know what you think about the game!

NOLF I liked...NOLF2 I loved. Everything was excellent about that game, right down to the mime on the tricycle! And damn if the trailer park tornado scene wasn't one of the coolest graphic achievments up to that time.

I have been especially tough on Monolith, but those are three great games. Have you never played either NOLF game?
I got crappy Guild Wars. Now you go buy NOLF 2.
Edit: F3k that. I just checked and GoGamer has NOLF 2 for $8. For all that crap you got for free, you owe it to me them to buy it. Make it so.

Don't think of it as two weeks.

Think of it, right now, as only being nine days away.
Actually, HTF did you come up with two weeks to begin with?
If not for Oblivion, X3 would be my next purchase.

That was my answer for the longest time. Until I had girlfriend that really loved Halloween and would dress up in some hot and kinky Halloween costumes/lingerie.

Hmmm... I supposes I could get back into this whole Halloween thing...

Costco has the 2 disk version on sale for $20.79. So I picked it up.

Edit - looks like I don't have a digital picture of the Darth Maul pumpkin - may not have taken one at all.

No, but as I have watched Batman over 500 times

!

Werd. While in college, it would just be on the loop while I was in my dorm or doing something close by. At my best guess, you get about 130 viewings per VHS without too many problems.

Batman... Batman... Can somebody tell me what kind of a world we live in, where a man dressed up as a BAT gets all of my press?
