For the love of all that is holy...someone please go gouge out Ewe Boll's eyes and never let him behind a camera again. His 'creativity' is an affront to logic and creative people everywhere. His films don't even make sense within their own context.

"Because I had excellent experiences at all my startups. In fact, since I started programming games in 1979 I've worked at other people's companies for less than 5 years total (Origin, Softdisk, Midway). More than anything I love the feel of a startup, the unlimited possibilities, the feel of having a true mission to accomplish. Too many people just shuffle from job to job...just so they can have a job, with no fire left in them to change the world." Wait let me see if I got this. Romero is actually bragging that his rampant jobs changes are a skill? And what's this crap about programming? If memory serves Carmack did the bulk of the work on Doom and Quake, with some input from Romero. In fact Carmack had to smack Romero around on more than one occasion for his suggestions. When Eidos fund Romero's ION-Storm his staff did most of the work on Daikantana with Romero (free from Carmack's incessant smacking) supplying the bulk of the creative input. And look how that game turned. But I digress, at least Romero isn't !DEREK SMART. I'm sure Romero could run circles around all of us here. However compared to Meier, Molyneux, Carmack, Iwatani, and more... Romero isn't a "programmer". He's a "creative director". The two aren't mutually the same.

I agree about that. Romero was pretty much fired from all his jobs. Id, he was pretty much pushed out. Ion Storm, he was freak'en fired, and to be fired from your own company is the ultimate humiliation in my book. Midway, he left with an unfinished sucky product. Whatever happen to MonkeyStone? And now this new one? Yea, starting over does feel good, but do you know what feels better? Actually finishing a GOOD game. How dare he think he is better than people doing a salary lifestyle. To each their own and all of that.

The interview is hilarious. Uwe loves Postal (or POSTAL as he puts it), likes to play with his XBox, and is "excited to do Far Cry soon" -- although it would seem pre-production on the movie is well underway. He also compares his work to Quentin Tarantino's and imagines people will want to watch 90 minutes of his films, although possibly not three hours:
UB: BLOODRAYNE is R. In the Name of the King – a Dungeon Siege tale – will be PG 13.
GVK: Any truth to the reports that the film will be over Three Hours in length?
UB: Or longer. Maybe we have to do the KILL BILL variation – two parts. Nobody wants to sit so long in the theatre. Will In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Taleparts I and II top the LoTR trilogy? Only time will tell.

Nooooooo!! Don't you dare make a movie with Far Cry in the title! I hope Ubi will help stop his madness. You can bet he's scouting for locations everywhere except beaches.

great cast (Kristanna TERMINATRIX Loken, Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Billy Zane, Meatloaf, Geraldine Chaplin, Udo Kier, Matt Davis and Michelle Rodriguez It would seem Ben Kingsley (Searching for Bobby Fischer, Schindler's List, Death and the Maiden, House of Sand and Fog) is really, really, really hard up for cash these days.

I thought this was the John Romero fan club. Every time i make a remotely negative comment about the man, i get verbally attacked about how godlike he is. blech!
