Hey we are putting our a 40k collectible card game here at sabertooth games. If anyone wants a demo deck let me know and I'll send you out a copy!

You may have noticed that there was a card for our game in the expansion pack winter assault, and we will be doing a 2 player battle box for the game in Novemeber as well.

Anyway email me at Josh@sabertoothgames.com

Sorry for the advertisement, but I figures some might be interested.

Josh

I believe the reason why they have so much melee combat in WH40k is because Games Workshop built 40k on top of the Warhammer Fantasy rule set way back when.

I'm talking about the table top versions mind you.

In the dawn of war intro, the space marines charge up the hill after they think they had killed all of the orks. The remaining orks were lying in wait and charged after the marines already had their momentum going. At that point it would have been too late to turn back

I highly recommend picking this game up. Multiplayer is fantastic and there are a lot of changes made to each race that brings them all to a nice balance and the imperial guard are a blast to play.

Makes the skirmish/multiplayer game a lot more intense. Super units are all 400/400 (Baneblade, Eldar Avatar, Chaos Bloodthirster, Orky Rhino thing) which means you'll be seeing them a lot more frequently.

Why the hell did the Orks and Space Marines charge at each other when they had fully loaded guns?

The orcs in question are actually Slugga Boyz, so their melee attack damage is far greater than their shooting damage. As for why the space marines counter charge, that's a very good question, especially since they have a dreadnought with them.

Yea, the sense of melee combat in the year 40 000 is beyond me... but it sure is bloody fun!

Yeah the intro kicked ass though after watching it again with this demo. Why the hell did the Orks and Space Marines charge at each other when they had fully loaded guns? Hehe, guess the tactics of the future won't be far from the age of just standing face to face with enemy, firing volleys until 1 side is completely wiped out =p

I really did like that original DoW intro though. Very nice; one of the few intros I don't always skip past when starting, because it actually gets ya psyched up...

Nope, same intro as the original game.

I have to say that now that I've completed both campaigns, I did enjoy myself, but the missions are too scripted for my liking in that I won't replay them a whole lot.

Skirmish is great now, though.

But does it have a cool CGI intro?

I enjoyed DoW more than the AoE3 demo.. but maybe I'll like the full game better.

Finally! Been anxious to try out the new units to see whether or not I wanna buy this and attempt to really get into it as I had Wc3 or wait for AoE 3 to arrive.
