I still think the SPECIAL system was amazing...I know Bethesda has that system (them having bought the rights to Fallout and all)...I wish they'd make a hybrid between it and the experienced based system of Morrowind. You'd get your wish of specialisation into a single weapon, too
As for the dynamic fighting...I like it; it makes sense that if I hit the skelton onscreen, I hit it. Anything else is a 'WTF?' break in immersion. It only makes sense that the ammount of damage is different each time (good swing, bad one, fumble :)).
What I'm hoping is that the world Betehsda crafts this time 'round is slightly more...interesting. Sure, I liked the different cities (I'll always remeber my first time in Balmorra and Vivec), but somehow the world just blended together into a brown mass for me after a while. Maybe some different colour pallets might help, breaking up the world a bit. I know every art director would shit a brick at that suggestion (one colour pallette to rule them all! Helps unify the world!), and their reasoning is correct...but still, I'd like it if different parts of the world /really/ did look different.
And I hope they actually create more than four real, memorable characters in this game. Radiant should help out, but whats really needed is character design. Like Fallout (2) had, or Baldurs Gate, or really like the old LucasArts adventure games had. Not just convoluted names, but fleshed out, driven characters.
That, and Bethesda better have some high-res source art which they downsample for the xbox.
Still, Bethesda is one heck of a worldbuilder; if the game is just as good as Morrowind, they deserve to sell millions.
