Yeah, thats the mouse I've been using for a couple years now. (When did it come out?) I had an MS Intellipoint Optical (or something like that) when they first came out, but the buttons started giving me problems. So far this Logitech has been great. I only wish it had at least 2 thumb buttons as the MS did.
I'll probably try that Copperhead next. I know some people have been talking about construction problems with the Razer mice, but since it has a 2 yr warranty, I'll give their new one a chance.

damn, that G7 is friggin sweet!
I love those dual battery packs, charge one while using the other...awesome!
wtf is that USB dongle for though? is the wireless *on* that dongle? why isn't it just integrated into the base? what else would you plug into that socket? or is that so you can quickly switch over to a wired usb mouse instead of fooling around on the back of the computer.
thank god for driverless mouse...hate mouseware!

I seriously have never noticed mouse lag, and I've had a lot of wireless mice. I move the mouse, it goes in the right direction. Some people will blame anything

Microsoft makes better keyboards, but Logitech makes better mice.
Most useless Mouse gimmick? That stupid Microsoft mouse wheel that you can push left and right. I bought one of those and I have yet to see a single non-MS application or ANY game that uses it.
Got tired of the wireless lag (all wireless mouse lag unbearably) so I went out and bought mx500 about a year ago, best mouse I've ever had.

This reminds me of the asshats who walk into bars with their own custom pool cues. I walk over to the rack of shitty house cues hanging on the wall (or laying on the floor) and find the shortest, most bent hunk of crap I can find. Then I whoop their "custom stick in a leather case" carrying asses.

Certainly not in GW, if reports from fellow BluesNewsers is anything to go by Actually, it's funny you mentioned that. In GW, to move the camera, I hold down the right mouse button, and then use the mouse movement to move the camera. and I've been playing GW almost nonstop for 2-3 months now...
So yesterday, on a whim, I fire up HL2. And I caught myself holding down the right mouse button while trying to move the camera (to look around)!

I used to use a trackball--until I started getting serious about games. I guess my thumb just isn't very precise.
I also tried wireless mice, but did not like them. Tried lots of kinds, including the logitech one that everyone says is so great. Still felt laggy. I still use one at work, and hate it.
So, I use a Logitech MX510 or somethnig. Love it.

do you actually play FPS's with a ball mouse? How is that working out? Certainly not in GW, if reports from fellow BluesNewsers is anything to go by

do you actually play FPS's with a ball mouse? How is that working out? Do you mean a "mouse" mouse, or the trackball I linked? I only use a mouse at work, and that's only because I haven't bugged anyone enough to order me a trackball...(which I think I'll do tomorrow!)
But I've used the model I've linked (or one close to it, whatever model L is selling at the time) for years (close to 10, I believe). Doing 180s in particular is a breeze. You spin the ball and when you get to where you want to stop, you reapply your thumb to stop the movement... (it takes a bit to get used to, but after awhile, it's a breeze).
I also use "invert vertical" on all FPS games...
Seriously, try one out...not the ones w/ the giant ball in the middle (Kensington springs to mind), but the ones like I linked, where all you use is your thumb, and the rest of the hand doesn't move, other than for the buttons...
Oh, and the MS models suck...the axis seem to move at different speeds (IE it's easier to move up and down, but you have to apply more pressure/force to move the ball to the sides? WTF?)...

My IntelliMouse with IntelliEye is still working pretty well after, um, I can't even remember how old it is, maybe 6 or 7 years? Except its USB cable has now developed a intermittent fracture (anyone know where I could get a new cable?)
I was considering getting one of those MX510/MX518's but after fiddling with one in a shop, it just didn't feel quite right.
