GT Legends Demo StarForce Fix

This GT-Legends Downloads Page (thanks Frans) now offers a StarForce fix for the demo version of the retro racing sim. Here's the explanation: "StarForce have issued an updated driver which should fix the reboot/BSOD problem which may be experienced on some systems when running the GT Legends demo."

I've never had any problems with Starforce on my computer. I don't care if games have starforce. Hell if you're so damn concerned about it how about you buy the game then download the crack exe to get rid of the "shit"?

The only problem (that might even remotely be linked) to starforce is when i had the original Trackmania installed. I had a few reboots here and there, then my processor went from being an AMD 2800+ to a simple AMD 1.2ghz. But even then i don't even know if that's related in any way shape or form to Starforce.

Out of the 5 or so recent games i've bought every single one used Starforce, and every one works perfectly alright.

You gotta be shitting me has it gotten to the point where even Demos require this crappy bullshit copy protection. Keep your Demo and your lame ass copy protection.

It amazes me that buyers (or developers/publishers!) will actually still consider using Starforce products. The type of problem described here is significant, and both starforce and those licensing it should be about crapping their shorts right about now. Your days are numbered, guys.

I have a better fix that works 100%. Don't buy or install crap which uses StarForce copy-protection.

Bingo. I will never, ever touch a starforce product. Even if it was only just to be a prick about it.

And that goes for Steam, too!

The people stupid enough to do so DESERVES reboots and BSODs

Did it ever occur to you that most people do not know or care what copy protection scheme is in place when they purchase a game? They simply expect it to work. How does that expectation make them deserving of system crashes?

I have a better fix that works 100%. Don't buy or install crap which uses StarForce copy-protection. There are plenty of quality games which don't.

The reasoning behind starforce in a demo (as has been pointed out many times) is that if you could get you hands on an unencrypted demo executable then you might be able to use that when cracking the full version.

Starforce sucks and disrupts normal usage and we've all been saying it forever but everyone just likes to shoo those who speak up away as deviant thieving crackers. gg.
