Soon you wont be able to get dedicated servers or server hosting modes in game clients, they want you to RENT a server.

Personally I'd not find it much loss if I had to do without 20 man listen servers running on home "2mb DSL must be great" systems. On the other hand, free dedicated server releases dont seem to encourage this server pollution and are excellent for variety of choice. The thought of only being able to rent servers via the publisher isnt pleasant.
(I'm not sure this is what you meant, but IMO currently it is beginning to showing indications of being a valid concern)

Hello, the 80s called, they want their turboloaders and decoder wheels back Ahh I do miss those turboloaders (flashy lines :D) from C64 tapes

I for one welcome our "Entering our Username, Password and CD-Key everytime we play multiplayer overlords" Sorry had to get it out of my system

I give online multiplayer games another two years before they come with a decoder wheel.

People play this multiplayer?

I mean like, real people? Play this? Multiplayer?

This game definitely screamed for co-op instead of DM.

10. DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH Aug 10, 2005, 18:06 mOOzilla

It forces you to enter your Username, password and CD key everytime you go multiplayer. WTF?

Who in their right mind wants to do this EVERY time they play the game? They really think people will accept this?

Anybody know how to remove this patch and revert back to 1.32?

I await patch 1.34 to fix this so called anti cheating change (as they put it). If not, this games dead in my book, time to uninstall and move on to another game.

These guys dont even do a rollup patch you have to do patch a then b then c etc, why not release one retail base -> 1.3x patch or whatever in a single download.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH if you like playing multiplayer.

So, hands up who like this patch *g*

"Milkin' it" was a joke from an earlier topic where someone said they were milking the game by supporting it with patches... nin was just being sarcastic.

Milkin' what? You've either got the game by now or you won't pick it up.

Besides, a great game like this deserves the support.

Not sure you want to patch the game with 1.33 just yet. I did this morning and could not find ANY server that would let me play online. Practicaly ended my online option at this point.

Oh c'mon. Either it's "What, no more patches? I wish they would support their games longer!" or "They sure are milkin' it" ... you just can't please gamers.
