Haha. How old are you. Did you even buy the game, or do you normally vote with your mom and daddie's money? I bet you still didn't go to the ubi forums to investigate the reasons that lead up to this. Mabey your just pissed because the patch cut off your hack. Edit: Once again folks, here is a link. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=452106891 Catch up on the news.

Yes I own FarCry, I dont enter my details on here, you see its prople like you is why we have DRM, Region Coding, now BlueRay disks that require validation, ingame adverts, rental servers.... and on and on...
Strange how OTHER games dont have this problem, so they dont bother to fix the probleem, they just do a quick ANNOY the HELL out of CUSTOMERS patch. Strange how all the other games I bought dont have this problem.
I say get the finger out and fix the ACTUAL PROBLEM and stop dumping the crap onto PAYING CUSTOMERS.
Nobody forces you to read our "useless rants" cockmongler.
OMG IM NOT A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNNITY OH WOE IS ME!, who cares fanboi, I just dont want the hassle. You may do fine, dont check the "remember me" box then. I for one do.
TO me this is CryTek being LAZY ass Ho's and I vote with my wallet next time around.

You folks bitching are either lazy, stupid or ignorant. While I agree thant it is an annoyance entering the info, you probably do it everytime you comment on this and everyother forum you bitch in. The ubi. farcry forum will give you info about the patch and why. Part of it has to do with a guy named Phaze, so look at some of the recent treads for that name. The guy made a hack and then recorded all of the people who used it, thier ubi logins, times, and who knows what else. Cheating has really affected the community, of which you must not be a member or you would know that. So why are you wasting your time posting useless rants that waste peoples time. Do you even own FarCry, or do you just do this to get off? Go else where to get your kicks unless you can engage in a meaningfull conversation.

Multiple logins? You need the CD no? Forcing us to ENTER OUR DETAILS every time does not prevent multiple logins. Its just focing us to do manually what was done from settings anyway. NO BENIFIT TO THEM OR US. ESPECIALLY THEIR BANK BALANCE
I would like to hear what problem this hassle actually fixes.
Saying its cheaters is not enough, they need to be more specific. Easy to deal with cheaters, shoot them Jeez I dont need no nanny.
I hate developers who hide behind change notes that are just so fague. This FUNCTIONAL CHANGE is not even listed in the changelog.
They actually listed this on their own crytek website as a change then they sneakly removed it because they knew people wouldnt like it. So it went in undocumented (to us). I saw them remove it from their website for up and comming patch plans. They just screwed themselves.
Until they can be HONEST, no more MONEY.

Well, lets put blame on the right people. The cheaters. Were there none, there would be no need for such a patch.
What I don't understand is why punkbuster wasn't enough. Or was purely to stop multiple logins?

SO, what kind of PROBLEM does this forcing us to login every time fix? Enquiring minds would like to know, is it worth giving PAYING CUSTOMERS the hassle?
I for one dont like this hassle of logging in all the time, and at times I do forget my accounts thats why I use the remember option.
So what problem or cheating does this FIX?
They are trying to Screw us, they did so by INTENTIONALLY FORCING us to login EACH and EVERY TIME we go MULTIPLAYER.
Why can all other games allow us to do this yet FarCry has to be special and force us to sign in each time without remembering settings?
Sure they lost my money on the expansion. This patch has left a bitter taste in my mouth for CryTek games.
*counts money and puts in the pile for OTHER games NOT developed by CryTek*

Yeah, that's definitely a bug. I can see how you'd be pissed, but really? Ranting because a patch introduced a bug. I assure you, they're not trying to screw you.
I think that CD-key in use thing was pretty common with the original release of the game. I would head over to the support forums and see if anyone has a solution. It could be as easy as waiting for your login to time out, or you may have to reinstall the game and all the patches, but I certainly doubt that this kind of bug could be caused by a hardware incompatibility issue or some such thing.
TLDR: You have a right to be pissed, they broke your game, but it's not supposed to be that way and you can probably fix it.

How come I have to enter my CD-Key alot more than ONCE?
Is this a bug then? Until this is fixed playing FarCry Multiplayer for me is a pain in the arse.
I even enter my CD-Key and it says its In use, WTF, I PAID FOR THIS FRACKING GAME.
I had respect for Ubi and CryTek, now CryTek lost this. I for one shall not purchase any expansion pack for this game due to this.
As for Ubi support, you get a premium rate arm and a leg phone number. No thanks.
Region coding, nobody did anything, now they want blueray disks that self destruct and connect to the internet for validation.
Now Ubi and Crytek want you to enter your details EVERY TIme you play... People accepted this and did nothing.
Whats next? Oh, Rental servers ONLY. Enjoy dishing out money.
Whats next? Subscription only online, Enjoy dishout out MORE money.
Whats next? Adverts in online games (Planetside for one).
Keep rolling over and sitting like a good little doggy. They love it.
Why dont you people get a backbone and stand up to them for once.
You may have the right to protect your game but hey, I HAVE THE RIGHT NOT TO GIVE YOU MONEY, NEVER FOR GET THAT
Who has the money and power now, yes WE do. Remember that every time you go home from work and eat that nice meal.

Totally off subject, but anyone remember Tie Fighter and the "validation" they used? Look on page 17 of the manual, choose the correct symbol ... I had to call my buddy and have him tell me what they looked like. Best 6 floppy disks I ever did get.

I certainly feel that Far Cry was more fun than BF2, but i can't fathom playing it DM.
Test Drive 3 had a decoder wheel. It was a minor bitch to photocopy when I was 14 years old. Minor.
Why can't modern racing games be as open ended as that and Vette were? Of course, TD3 came with 3 cars, and add-on packs of more cars were $14.95 for 3 I think. These days that's called a free patch...

that actually did have some type of decoder wheel. I wanna say it was Monkey Island, or one of the Star Control games. Think that was the first Star Control?

FarCry has now been crossed off of my purchase list. Ok, but if that's all it took then you must not have been very interested. Loads of people already through the same "hassle" just for GunBound!
Perhaps further clarification is in order:
To play single-player or on a LAN, you do not need to enter ANY information.
The first time you play online, you need to enter your CD key (you do not enter it when installing) and your username and password.
To play online again, you need to enter your username and password only. The game used to give you the option of savving your username and password, but it does not offer this feature any longer.
Personally, I don't play the game online much. The multiplayer is fun, for sure, but I recommend the game for its single player mostly, and because it's fun and easy to modify the game.

Yes, I will also clarify:
You do not need to enter your CD key every time.
You do need to enter your ubi.com username and password every time.

The folks at the ubi farcry forum say you don't have to enter your CD key everytime. I can't belive people are still talking about the milking crap. This game is still more intertaining than BF2 to a lot of people. At least it has more than one game type! And if you haven't yet you need to check out www.Obsidianedge.net . It is a new multiplayer mod about to hit hard and will have a lot of folks dusting off and reinstalling FarCry. It already has a lot of Ghost Recon folks buying Farcry just to play the mod. Should be out any day!!!!!

I would say that I expect the Far Cry community to have a patch to allow you to save your info ready any time now, but I'm trying to make one myself and it's not going as smoothly as I planned. I think the login process stuff might actually have been moved into the game's executables so that cheaters can't avoid the authentication process. A quick look through CryNetwork.dll seems to indicate that this is the case.
Unfortunately, I never got into ASM hacking, but maybe somebody will look at the code and find an easy way to get a stored user name in there.
Edit: I should comment that, although it's a bit of a hassle, I don't find typing in my username and password each time I log in to be particularly straining, and I wouldn't advise people to hold off on patching just because you'll have to type 15 or 20 characters when you want to play. Its nice to have the ability to host for a few firends without having to resort to a VPN and LAN mode. This "Rental" server syndrome is going to be big money, not only for PCs but especially consoles which we all know dominate the gaming market. I say put PC games and Console games (if available) head to head on the same servers
Anyway, back to the topic, I DONT WANT TO ENTER MY DETAILS EVERY DAMN TIME I WANT TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER, REMEMBER WHO HOLDS THE MONEY CryTek and who puts food on your plate. Stop fracking us over.
The up and comming expaions for FarCry is now NOT going to be purchased here until you fix this issue. who knows, I think you will try the same stunt on that expansion too, no?
I hold my money all the way to the bank, do you, not anymore after this patch.
