Croteam have always made games that are easy to modify and expand, I suspect within a week of release there will be a tolerable DM mode. Infact I would rather have a DM made by the community than something like Valves half assed, bugged to hell, never updated solution.

Yeah, I've downloaded the whole soundtrack. Going to put it on while I play Doom 3.

1 week after you're sick to death of playing the single player campaign a 100 times with friends let me know how things are for you..... As opposed to what? One week of playing deathmatch 100 times with friends and getting sick of it? Something the vast majority of us have already done many, many times with other DM games over the years?
DM games are a dime a dozen, but I can barely name a handful of coop games in the last ten years.

I actually downloaded, listened to, and liked all those song remixes from Doom.
I think that's sufficient evidence to convict me in the court of "you're a fucking GEEK." Oh, well; not anything I didn't already suspect.

DM is dead! Other than firing up UT2004 once every 6 months for a one on one with a buddy, I have zero urge to play a DM game again.

We need more DM titles, we only already have 7 billion to choose from. More Deathmatch more deathmatch more deathmatch.
FFS, does every title HAVE to ship with deathmatch? Are there really that many people that do nothing but switch to the deathmatch flavor of the week, rather than staying on dedicated dm games, such as UT2004 / BF2, or even HL2 DM?
Sigh.

So much for all the console makers trying to convince us that PC gaming is dead.

An Open Letter to Croteam on GameMecca bemoans the planned lack of DM support, looking to inspire a change in plan...
I'll take 16 player co-op with the option to turn on friendly fire any day over DM
