Seriously! has a follow-up on reports
on Serious Sam 2's release date (
story), saying that 2K Games has
informed them Croteam's upcoming shooter sequel has no set release date, though
the game's general release window remains as this fall. They also have a
correction on that same story's announcement of Serious Sam II multiplayer
support, saying the PC edition will support 16-player player, not the eight
mentioned in that press release. They also point out that the good news of the
game's co-op support is tempered by the bad news that the game will have no
deathmatch support.

Friendly fire.... Can be fun if you all argee to shoot each other before the game begins. Have you ever played with an ass that would kill you while on the same team just for fun? And not at the end of the level either. 
Also, didn't the original DOOM have an interesting multiplaymode that allowed people to play kind of a modified deathmatch while going through the levels? So you are shooting monsters as well as each other.
I've played quake 1 deathmatch a few times. But for the most part it became repetative and boring. Tried Farcry also, but again after a couple of times... I wasn't the best or worst or anything, just didn't hold my interest.
Can't wait for SS co-op again. Never played it deathmatch.
