as everyone mentioning slow downs seems to have the ATI GPUs
Yeah, someone with a 6600 seemed to have no problems while others with X800 do.
Actually if you have an Nvidia FX5200 or FX5600/FX5700, don't even bother trying to play the game. It will run in single digit framerates in firefights.
What if I have a Ti4200? LOL I didn't notice anyone with that card mention how it ran for them.. Maybe thats because I'm the last person that still uses it?
I haven't tried the demo myself yet because I'm on dialup now, but I know it will run like crap. D3 and HL2 ran ok even in 1024 with about medium settings, yet from the all the performance complaints, I dont see any hope for me. The rest of my specs seem to be about average with others here (XP 2800, 1Gb ram), so if I can get my hands on a new vid card, I'll be set.
Ray, aren't you about ready to upgrade to the 7800? I'll be glad to take that 6800 off your hands. That would give you an excuse to buy a new one at least.
Well, besides the usual excuse of needing the fastest thing on the market.. heh
Edit: While I'm on the subject, is a bit faster/better GPU or more memory better to have in a vid card? For example, would the 6600GT 128mb or the 6600(non-GT) 256mb be a better choice? I dont know enough about the differences between GPUs to know if the GT is that much better or not, but the price difference seems to say it is.
