Rockstar's fate |

Rockstar's fate is already sealed. They are going to become the Martha Stewart of video game companies or at the very least a whipping child for politicians running for re-election.

You know... but in france you will get jailed if you have any violence in your game and sell it to minors. But even for adults violence is somewhat prohibited in games and movies. Blood? OMG OMG OMG OMG! POLICE! Tits? Asses? Cuss words? GIMME GIMME GIMME! Even in TV news, newspapers, commercials etc are naked women at normal daytimes and women are handled like sex objects, so that every little children can see it. Stop thinking that europe is better at this...

Go to France and ask anyone about this issue, and they will start to laugh
Ofcourse, you could also go to France in the early 90s and ask them not to do any completely unnecessary nuclear testing in the Pacific, and they would have laughed as well (and did, quite frequently).
If your point was USA = Teh Suck, Every Other Country = Much Better, I fear I'll have to deflate your balloon a bit.
It is definitely true that the US has some priorities wildly fucked up though.

Also is this particular thing in America where violence and killing is okay but sex is a no no ? Even though you guys have one of biggest porno industries in the World. It's pure politics + media. This has nothing to do with what the average person in America thinks.

Yeah it's pretty fucked up here in the States. Just hope I can give up smoking before it's outlawed as well.
The problem isn't the lie, it's how they handled it which coulda/shoulda/didn't get handled properly by Rockstar. That's the rub, at least for me. Had they said something to the affect of that the code wasn't removed from the copies due to time constraints or some other BS it would have gone over alot better then saying 'Uber hackers' did it. But all the explanation's that Rockstar has given out is more damaging to themselves then anyone else. Like any good crime show will tell ya, Say nothing ask for a lawyer and let the lawyer spin it.
Maybe we should chip in and buy Rockstar a season of The Practice and CSI. Might help them learn to lie better

Yes rockstar did lie, but all this has been blown out of proportion.
I have found it is amazing that in the game you can kill people, kill cops, steal cars, pimp and steal. It gets a mature rating but if you put in a bit of nudity it gets an adult only rating. I am glad I live in the UK where games are rated just like movies, this has meant that GT:San Andreas got an 18 certificate.
This means that anyone under 18 can not legally buy the game, if the US had a similar system then none of this would have been a problem.
Also is this particular thing in America where violence and killing is okay but sex is a no no ? Even though you guys have one of biggest porno industries in the World.
I thought America was founded on the principles of small Government, where the Federal Government would not interfere with the Market or ordinary people. If they truly believe in Capitalism they should let the market decide whether this game should sell or not.

Hey FTC, when ya 'probe' Rockstar, make sure not to use lube, maybe next time they'll think twice about trying to blame their community for the stupid shit they do. Er wait.. change the word community to hackers.

Remember all this when it comes time to vote at election time, guys. Keep an eye on what YOUR elected officials are doing to the hobby you love.
And while your at it, smack Rockstar upside the head for doing this. Lying only proves you have something to hide, and is as good as an admission of guilt.

I find this amusing. Lots of people in this country and on this forum would bash a country like France, but you want to know something? Go to France and ask anyone about this issue, and they will start to laugh. This IS NOT important. And it certainly isn't worth the time and tax payer dollars that the FTC [and others] are going to spend on it.

But only after they lied and told everybody that the 3v1l h4><orz added all the disputed content. That was Rockstar that said it was the hackers, not Take Two so far as I know.
