The Battlefield 2 Website (thanks Ant) has word that login issues users have been experiencing are being investigated by GameSpy, and that external stats tracking may be temporarily disabled as the problem is addressed. There is also news that a hotfix patch is currently being tested for memory leak problems that surfaced in version 1.01, saying we should "rest assured" that while a fix has no ETA, "it's not far off." Word is:

Listen up soldiers, this update is to inform you that EA and DICE have a HOTFIX candidate for Battlefield 2 v1.01 in testing now. What does this mean? It means the fix for the memory leak found in v1.01 is being tested and will soon be available. While we're unable to specify an exact release date, rest assured, it's not far off and we will keep you updated through this web space.

I used to think helicopters were way overpowered until I spent an entire night flying/gunning from copters. It takes two skilled players cooperating to make a helicopter a threat on the battlefield.

But I do agree, anti-tank players are far too underpowered. I've sit there and shot 2-3 rockets into the SIDE of a tank and it didn't even start smoking from damage.

Do the DICE guys realize that 1 anti-tank missile is enough to incapacitate any tank if shot at the rear/sides/treads of the tank?

Hell, you can toss off 5 missiles head-on to a tank and it won't do anything. Not even the Abrams can shrug off 5 direct rocket attacks in the front. Absolutely ridiculous and absurd.
