Well, as was pointed out after my post on the topic yesterday, it turns out that VOIP in BF2 is indeed between squad members, rather than the entire team, which makes sense... this was plainly mentioned in the manual, which is certainly not too thick to read through, so I don't really have a good excuse for taking Devicer's word for this. We had a fine old time further exploring the game yesterday, including the voice stuff, though talking with our squad mates did make it evident how young the guy leading us was... but it also demonstrated how effective the squad tactics in the game can be with a little coordination.
