EA and Digital Illusions
Assault Store Shelves with Battlefield 2 for the PC announces that DICE's
shooter sequel is beginning to deploy: REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--June 21, 2005--Get to the chopper! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS - News)
and Digital Illusions today announced that Battlefield 2(TM) has begun to ship
to retail outlets for the PC. Powered by an all new game engine, Battlefield 2
brings the intensity and excitement of its predecessors, the award-winning
Battlefield 1942(TM) and Battlefield Vietnam(TM), into the modern era with the
latest, most technologically advanced vehicles and weapons systems available to
man.
In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military
superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East
Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of
any of the game's 30+ vehicles. Players can also hone their skills against
improved enemy intelligence in the new single-player campaign before competing
online with up to 64 players in some of the most intense battles on the
PC.

space captain, It definitely is sour grapes, I know - mixed in with some legitimate gripes.
I probably wouldn't have posted this if it wasn't for the fact that they have bots that are capable of playing on the larger maps, they've said so in an interview, just not as coherently as on the small maps. That's what irks me, it seems like they've poorly thought some things through, by not wanting anyone to play their game at anything less then optimal conditions, they've naïvely cut off a lot of their potential customers. That’s what’s getting to me.
And Creston, somebody in my head told me I wasn’t being jaded gamer bitch, as you can see with my brief discussion with myself, so I’m just going to go with that. My second personality knows what he’s talking about most of the time.
