From my time playing Burnout 3 with some over the pond players, I know Bollocks is bad, and Dog's bollocks are good, but they wouldn't explain why and said not to ask lol.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i do believe good sir that the game you are referring to as a "crappy 2 bit video card test" was in fact Doom 3. HL 2 was a facial/body animation test.
Back back to BF2, i'm not anticipating this game at all, in fact im guessing it'll be like the previous games were to me: Totally average.
I played BF:V and i thought it was absolute rubbish. I don't know why but it just seemed to me as if the graphics had taken a step backwards in time almost to the days of voxel shaders that were employed in DF. Not only were the graphics looking bad, but the vehicles were strange to control and the general gameply was one of "bum rush a point with your friends, then bum rush the next one", and those games bore me. Much prefer something where tactics (pincer manouevers, combined arial (sp?), motorised and grunt attacks on a single point) were employed much much more.
However i'll probably d/l the BF2 demo and have a gander at it and see if it's truely bollocks, or if it's the dog's bollocks. For those non-english and haven't seen 51st State, i'll leave you to figure out what those phrases mean

What, GTA: San Andreas? 'Cause that is the b-all-end-all at the moment. Poor console suckers...1280x960, max'd draw distance, all the shaders you can shake a stick at...mouse & keyboard control...that's how you play this game! 's just a shame R* has to sell out to Sony for half-years at a time

Well voting is in there, as mentioned by Ben Smith last night at the Gamespy Arcade Chat, and not to mention that there is a vote yes/vote no buttons my my zboard insert for BF2.
Also the testing team for BFV was 1/4th the size of the current testing team. As noted in the current video on the BF2 site.

but it will absolutely meet expectations.
Well we shall see. BFV had high expectations too and alot of people were let down because they left out alot of the little things they had patched into BF1942 and alot of people seemed ot have problems with how the game ran. I never had these problems, but it was annoying at simple things like the votekick were absent.

I played it a bit it E3, and it may not blow people away, but it will absolutely meet expectations. I had a blast playing, and the EA drone kicked me off the station because I got wrapped up in it and was playing too long.

CORRECT! That pathetic lifeform must have dropped out in the eighth grade if he doesn't even fucking know how to spell "lose". What a LOSER! That guy's at a loss. He sure did lose this one. I think he's losing.
Well, that guy might be loose for all we know, and maybe that's what he was really intending to say. In which case, I really don't want to know about it. But hey, at least his sister is still tight.

i cant wait for bananafield 2 it looks good, it includes the peal cannon and the heat seaking apples. i cant wait to be a hybrid american banana and infiltrate the base with bananavision!

Haha, now that you say that, you confirmed something that was ringing in my head. They did mention something about Saturday though I didn't think that made sense so I thought I misread it. I guess that would technically be Friday for us, Saturday for them. Thanks for pointing that out. It all makes sense now!

Actually, I agree with sacredGinmill.
I'd love to play a WWII version (for the longer clip plane).
I've flown F-14s in the Gulf of Oman (for real)
In the fighter community, a gun kill is everything - missiles take alot of the skill away. Always did tip my cap to the old WWII guys - still do.
