Isn't it a little weird that MS use Apple products as their development station?

No, not really. But the irony is so tasty.

Will code games for money!

Well, no, not really...

The IBM Power970 CPUs in the Apple PowerMac G5 are very similar to the IBM PowerPC Execution Cores in the XBox 360 and PS3. It makes a great deal of sense to be developing on the same basic CPU architecture as your target platform. Developing on Intel CPUs for a PowerPC-based console would be a nightmare.

Isn't it a little weird that MS use Apple products as their development station? I know nothing about early stage product development but it just strikes me as odd.

First, they aren't the only ones that have it, as if Sony would give it to only one developer. RIIIIiiiiGHT.

Second, that is one really poorly written article on a really crappy website. Damn.

The beta hardware is now out... no longer using macs. Why do people think it's a bad thing that it was based on Mac and that the games were running on Macs?

The macs represented the closest hardware to the Xbox 360, so they used macs to make and demo the upcoming games, big DEAL!
