We started experiencing a weird seizing up from the transmission of our recently
acquired used Accord the other day, so we dropped it off at the service
department yesterday. They were quite pleasant to deal with, even promising to
pay for our rental car if we needed warranty service. In a freaky bit of timing,
on our return home we found a recall notice for the car. Seems there's a
potentially serious problem with the -- you guessed it -- transmission, which
could even potentially cause an accident. Now the thing is, this notice says
it's the third time we've been informed of this problem (obviously the prior two
notices were to the previous owners), which means Honda certified a used car to
sell to us without performing their own recall service. This is more than a
little annoying, not to mention frightening, and at this point my non-litigious
side is having a tough time convincing MrsBlue we shouldn't investigate suing
someone over this.
