Well, Dr. Toothy wasn't as tough on me as I thought yesterday... after strapping me in and making all sorts of dire predictions, he just went ahead with a cleaning and a warning that I need to be more diligent with my home care, making plans to reevaluate this in a couple of weeks. I'm not going to say this was effective (L.A. Confidential: "Is that how you used to play 'good-cop-bad-cop'?"), but please forgive any errors I make as I learn to type and floss at the same time.

This is what I came by for. To let you guys know they got the pilot project started up. Pretty soon all of you will be a number with a barcode stamped on your head. I would really like to see that. I want to see you talk bad to me while the people you protect are putting a tracking chip on you and stamping a barcode on your forehead.

(When I use the pronoun "you", I mean it to apply to the people talking bad about me. If that is not you, don't let yourself get included in what I wrote)

The only grade school in this rural town is requiring students to wear radio frequency identification badges that can track their every move. Some parents are outraged, fearing it will take away their children's privacy.

The badges introduced at Brittan Elementary School on Jan. 18 rely on the same radio frequency and scanner technology that companies use to track livestock and product inventory. Similar devices have recently been used to monitor youngsters in some parts of Japan.

Hmmm. They use it to track cattle and inventory. Which are you? A slave in the inventory or a source of meat for food?
