The CE is not worth the MSRP, much less twice that amount. The pet is lame, having a DVD is not worth twice the money, and the art stuff is not overly amazing.
I do want to give Blizzard some real props as a MMOG company. The company actually, finally did it - it actually provides worse customer service and horrible technical support than SOE ever has. Blizzard, you are a real top knotch company...in utter absurdity.
I have been having issues with the infamous "Error 132" crashes, an item that has a sticky thread in the technical support form with over 90,000 views coupled with numerous other posts, and Blizzard has yet to come up with any other reply than "Uhh...is your computer up to date?" On the two times that I made detailed posts supplying pertinent information and asking for support, I was.....ignored. Reading through the support forum, easily 90% of the posts go ignored by Blizzard. I am not just talking about the whiners, but people with actual issues. There are people that cannot even log in because the server has lost their character (something I, myself, experienced for one hour in a non-down period) or are being told that their character is already being used and Blizzard, as usual, doesn't do a damn thing. Reading through the forum, it is really depressing seeing how little a company cares about a game with multiple issues.
There are numerical typos that have been in existence from day one that, though known, Blizzard cannot bother to fix. Blizzard took the time to add Christmas decorations to the game, but did not fix numerous known issues. In Desolace, it took the time to add an entire instance, but could not be bothered to fix broken quests in the area. Warrior is still, by far, the most broken, weak, nerfed class out there. I could go on and on of things Blizzard already has a documented ticket for, yet which does absolutely nothing about. Hearthstones sporadically fail, boats may drop you in the water when they fail to transport you at the world edge, the auction house system is laggy and poorly thought out, etc.
I had not been keeping up with the latest news items and was still under the impression that they were doing daily maintenance on the servers, meaning i was giving Blizzard some leeway over its crappy server performance. I was informed that Blizzard had actually switched to the weekly maintenance schedule some time ago. For being scheduled to go down once a week for maintenance, the Kilrogg server crashes at least once a day, if not more. At most it has run for a day and a half with no crashes. Today, the server will be down for well over sixteen hours for maintenance.
Total, total joke is what Blizzard is and it actually manages to provide worse service than SOE does.
