No. I've simply seen the entire devlopment tree and where it's gone wrong along with many others. When good suggetions were made they were ignored. Both in the mage, and in the warrior lines.

Anymore I couldn't care, I know where the game went and it's not the type I'll play. Ahh...I remember the cries on the PvP server when they nurfed the hell out of the death system. Oh that was fun. How about the undead that really aren't undead, but sort of kinda quasi-undead. That's dev's for ya.

Ah, the cries of the nerfed. I'm a 43 rogue and a friend I group with constantly is a 43 mage. I do lots of damage. He does lots of damage. I sap (which fails frequently). He sheeps (which almost never fails). I waste lots of Horde. He wastes lots of Horde. Neither one of us has a problem with either class being underpowered. We work extremely well together as a team.

Maybe you got too attached to your overpowered mage in the beginning.

Allow me to explain using very small words.

Did you ever play the mage class way back when the alpha first started? It was over powered but boy it was fun. Sure we got nurfed and didn't mind, that's called balance. But then they kept on nurfing the hell out of the mage and destroyed the class. Now it's a glorified walking cafeteria, which can sometimes...if it's lucky change enemies into sheep. What? Sleep? Nah. Over powered, forget invisibility or detect invisibility.

Warrior was the same way way back, over powered got nurfed a bit but was very balanced of all the classes. Now it is not, about two months ago the Kingdom of Nurf came into effect. It touched everything, destroyed every class, destroyed the 'fun' that was in the game. Hamstring, Stun, taunt, etc.

This Kingdom of Nurf was so bad, that it even went against their own faq's, against their devlopers and class programers.

Instances...well I don't know if they have fixed the "if your PC dies before the badass then no quest item for you". Then again, it was "only one person" gets the quest item when they changed the raid and instance system. I hope they changed that.

Bah. Maybe they are finally fixing the warrior after two months, that however means it will only take them another to bring it back up to the levels it was before. Then we can get on the other classes like the mage who were fully destroyed.

It went from a game I enjoyed, loved to play, to something I couldn't even stand in two patches. To make it simple all the way at the end...games I play are for enjoyement not irritation. I've heard those words in the forums more then once as well. On WOW, on WWN, take your pick.

Now the fanboys will come out and start screaming at me. heh.

Not sure why're you're whining they're improving several things and I think even adding a few new abilities for the Warrior. Looks good to me.

Thanks for making things worse, Blizzard.

Good job screwing up the Warrior. Used to be good 2 months prior to retail but that nice, big old patch really 'fixed' things.

"It's just a beta!" they said. "Blizzard knows what they're doing!" they said. "Stop whining, it's only Beta!" they said. Over and over.

Sure. Look at the Warrior now.

Is this the patch that stops the game from stealing my life?

The only reason I didn't buy the game after peeing at my desk during the open beta.

The euro testing patch makes Druids useful in combat, awesome!

I played a mage for just 17 levels and thought they were pretty painful. In WOW all classes can solo to the top. In other games a mage would need a meatshield to keep him/her alive while firing off huge damage spells. In WOW the mage is meant to be more self-reliant so the spells do less damage and the mage can tank more (to an extent). In EQ mages are about area-of-effect spells/effects (and transport) while in WOW you don't NEED a mage for anything. In EQ (and I haven't played for a long long time but it really got parties right) each character class had a role. Now some weren't meant to group so they were good at soloing (SKs and Necros) others had specialised skills like Warriors (long downtime without a cleric) or clerics (short lifespan without a warrior). Enchanter's Mezzed, Mages cut down runners, Rogues and Rangers dealt damage, monks pulled, warriors tanked, Shamans buffed and slowed, Clerics healed, Paladins... paladins... were also very very important...

We're on a PvP server and I always notice how much problems he has when we get engaged by some pks. hes always the first to get attacked and also because of so many bugs (blink, missles) hes mostly doomed when dazed. I cant help him much, neither can his wife (warlock). if he can get one polymorph off we may have a chance and it already saved us many times because it hold so long. but if it breaks that soon now it will become extremely hard since he has to focus much more on the polymorphed PC than on damage dealing. and he already has a weak damage to mana to time ratio.

I find it extremely stupid that Blizzard calls them the class that deals most damage right along with rogues. I am getting outdamaged badly by a rogue, but I can badly outdamage my mage friend. Theres something wrong about that, isnt it?
I doubt he doesnt know his class or has wrong talents, because he was always extremely professional in every MMORPG, actually any game he played. In PvP-MMORPGs he had always the best tactics and owned everyone.
He's also not alone with his feelings about his class. Just take a look at the official mage forum.
Plus I can attest that mages get more rare each day, because people learn they suck.

Actually, you'll notice that the Polymorph nerf only applies to PvP combat. It shouldn't affect your friend's ability to crowd control mobs. Unless you're playing on a PvP server, it should be a non-issue.

I'm a 41st level Mage on Kil'Jaeden (which is a PvP server), by the way. So far I'm not having a problem dealing damage. What sort of build is your friend using? If his casting times are as long as you say... he needs to try something else.

Yay they nerf mages even more, even though they need to be buffed up.
That will make my friend happy... NOT. Actually I fear he will quit his mage because of this since polymorph was the only thing that made him really useful in a group. Now he has to watch polymorphed NPCs/PCs even more and with those long cast time and recast time spells he will do even less damage. "Most damage" my ass. I outdamage him no problem by far as a hunter.
