I've waited longer in the past for the other 2 games to come to PC a few more months won't kill me, sides the mod community always has a ton of extra cars etc to add to the game, not to mention Multiplayer

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.

I'll probably pick it up, but to be honest I'm not really looking forward to all the 'ebononics' that I'm in store for. A little to 'dark' if you know what I mean...

ya.. I said it so what?

MAFIA had this years ago.

Well, yeah, Mafia did have it. But there was very little to do in the environment, and moving at 30 miles an hour made racing through the countryside a little not exciting.

But I did love the game, and the countryside did add to the atmosphere of the city. Imagine the same thing with GTA, but with a ton of different things to do in it.

The only slight I have on San Andreas over Vice City is that the soundtrack is, in my opinion, pretty lacking. There's a good gangsta rap station, and a pretty decent hip hop station, and a pretty decent oldies station, and that's about it. Compared to the 80s goodness that was Vice City, I found it disappointing.

I agree w/ this 100%. I looked at the track listing for SA and was really disappointed...

For me, (gameplay wise) Vice City is/was the best. I hope they can top that, but I'm skeptical...

6 months...that seems like forever, but there's been a glut of good stuff lately, so maybe I'll be caught up by then...

With so many games going console only, I'm just glad RS continues to support the PC, even if it is later. Better late than not at all...

They are fun games to play, but they are too cartoonish. Also this talk of the addition of a "country"; is it that amazing?

MAFIA had this years ago.

I can't wait for a real eugenics movement, i'm bored by short people.

I'm not the only one who isn't excited about this at all am I? I liked GTA3 and Vice City will enough but I don't think I can really bring myself to care about another Grand Theft Auto game. Especially when its this far away.

The last thing that caught my attention about this series was when there were rumors floating around about some sort of Tokyo science fiction style GTA game...Or maybe I just thought that up on my own?

I wish that I never bought this game for the PS2, I must've played it for a total of 4 hours tops. Not because I didn't like the game but because I HATED it on the lame ass console. I really like the GTA series and didn't want to wait for the PC release, I SHOULD OF! I must say that the game is great and all but the same thing as the previous 2 titles is getting a little stale but still worthy of this sequel. ACID was right... SCREW THIS PC/Xbox release at the same time shit, the PC IS SUPERIOR IT SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH! IMO, Riddick is the best ported PC game of all time. I'm sure GTASA will be ported well just as the last 2 titles were.

the soundtrack looks ok to me - theres a "Helmet" song on there from their album "meantime"... which is KILLER... but i could do without "rage against the machine" stuff, which was totally played out about 2 weeks after the album came out

but i doubt anything could really top the soundtrack to Vice City - its just a ton of excellent, classic stuff

Yeah, well, surprise, there are only about 15 good hip hop and rap songs together.

is kick ass. It's unbelievable how much the addition of the countryside did for the game. You can easily amuse yourself for dozens of hours just driving cars or bikes around the countryside, doing wack ass jumps off all manner of hills and stuff.

In addition to that, you can now swim, which is a Godsend. No longer are you dead just because your dumb ass car flipped over a concrete wall into a tiny puddle. Just swim out of it and keep going. This makes the need for incessant saving also less. Which is good, because the map has gotten absolutely humongous. Driving from the NW tip of the map above San Fierro to the SE tip in the harbors of Los Santos will take about 20 minutes, which is just a great drive.

The voice acting in this one is even better than in Vice City. Though Ray Liotta did an excellent job for Tommy Vercetti, the rapper who does CJ is just fantastic (and Samuel L Jackson as Officer Tenpenny is great too), and they definitely spiced up the language to adhere to reality.

The missions are much, much better than in Vice City. There are only about three or four missions that are just controller destroyingly frustrating, three of which are in an optional strand (and two of which are from a guy named "Zero". Avoid these missions like the fucking plaque. Trust me. You WILL destroy your keyboard in frustration over the mission Supply Lines, which, through sheer random starting and trajectories of your targets, is LITERALLY impossible to complete about 95% of the time. I have completed it once in about 50 attempts, and I breeze through all the other missions without sweat).

Most of the missions, while long, now tell you exactly what it is you need to do, and it's easy to up your maximum health in this game (just a function of excercise), so you last longer in firefights. You also get access to powerful weapons almost from the start (at least, you can find them).

There's also some cool two player mayhem now

The only slight I have on San Andreas over Vice City is that the soundtrack is, in my opinion, pretty lacking. There's a good gangsta rap station, and a pretty decent hip hop station, and a pretty decent oldies station, and that's about it. Compared to the 80s goodness that was Vice City, I found it disappointing.

San Andreas would get my vote for game of the year, where it not really just another expansion of the same game we've played twice already.

Didn't keep me from spending about 150 hours in it before I got a bit bored though.

Yeah, I breathed a small sigh of relief too knowing it was officially coming. Wonder if the tools are any better for mod folks.

It's about time they announced it! I have been holding back on getting the PS2 version so I can play with better graphics on PC.

its practically the same thing man, why not kill 2 birds with one stone if you can - im sure the studio is more interested in saving a great deal of production costs than making elitist pc gamers happy
