Out of the Blue

Hamm, overslept today in spite of falling off early last night. Not sure what's up with that, it's not like I feel sick or overtired or anything. Oh well, it could have been worse; I could have been awakened by the G-Man, but I wasn't. At least I don't think I was.

Damn human rights. They break in, they deserve whatever they get. A chan of baked beans in the head, or some animal excrement shoved down the mouth whilst they're tied up in a chair being forced to listen to Britney Spears. Now THATS torture.

And yes i am wierd

Personally i'd give a shotgun blast to the kneecap. Will make it impossible for them to walk ever again and that is just about a right punishment for them.

Actually, the ourts have ruled that using a shot gun for self defense is UNreasonable use of force and you can be held liable for inflicting an intentional tort.

Me being incredibly tired and lazy having only read the last 10 or so posts, i have 2 points to make:

1: Very sad the guitarist was shot and killed. He was a brilliant guitarist, and Pantera had made some excellent tracks.

2: If anyone comes into your house without you inviting them, ANY force is reasonable. Doesnt matter why they're in your house, the fact is that they are without your permission. Personally i'd give a shotgun blast to the kneecap. Will make it impossible for them to walk ever again and that is just about a right punishment for them.

Obviously if it's some random japanese tourist that walks through your front door, probably shouting at them to get out is good enough. Preferably i'd go for a rubber band in the eye

As for armouring Hummers. I thought LAV 25's were supposed to be used in the armoured recon and patrol role? Money again, thats all it is.

From what what I've seen, the problem is armoring the BOTTOM of the Hummer. That's where the roadside bombs are doing damage.

I hear ya Warpig. Someone breaks into my house then I hope they dont mind a few chugs of my slugger. I'll aim for the arms and legs, I aint no murderer but i'l sure as hell assume they are armed.

Pantera got me through my University years and I was lucky enough to see Damageplan earlier this year at Donnington Rock festival in the UK. Gonna be missed.

Killing someone for breaking and entering is a little harsh.

Personally I have NO sympathy for anyone who gets injured or killed while breaking in and robbing someone. None. Hazards of the job and all that. If you don't want your legs cut off don't lay on the tracks, and if you don't want to be shot don't break into someone else's house.

It sounds simple because it is.

I'm not suggesting assasinating anyone. I just worry with all this "war on terror" stuff going on. I just don't want to wake up one day in a police state. My personal freedom is worth a few accidental gun deaths.

On the crime thing I guess shooting them in the leg is fine. If I just whip out my gun and they piss themselves and runaway, I'm not going to shoot them just so they can get hauled off to jail. I should have specified killing I guess. Killing someone for breaking and entering is a little harsh.

I think your all forgetting the point of gun ownership to begin with. It isn't for hunting and protecting yourselve from thieves. It's a balance to prevent the government from encroaching on your civil liberties. I think there is no need for handguns as they are only used for crime. They should only sell assault rifles. Think about it. It's not as crazy as it first sounds.

Also shooting a guy robbing your house is a little harsh.

1. Yeah, try shooting a cop that is doing something wrong, good luck with that one Nemesis. Oh, and if you think George W is not doing his job or feel his is endagering others, good luck getting him in your scopes, and I wish you even better luck defending yourself in court with a "civil liberties" defense.

2. How do you know they are just there to rob your house? Someone is in there that isn't supposed to be.....don't stand there like an idiot talking to them like in the movies, pull the trigger (even in the leg or something, they have to go to the hospital, cops can get em there, then you have DNA also to track them down, they are most likely in the system) and ask questions later.

Warhawk, that was just in direct reply to the Degeneres line about shooting the thief going for the Sony. If all he wants is the Sony, fine - take it and get out. Confronting the thief is only going to turn a bad situation much worse. But if the confrontation is forced upon me, then yeah, I'll shoot him. If it's between him and my family... It's going to be him pushing daisies.

Instead of simply getting the money back from your insurance, you must take the thief's life.

Hard to get back the life of one you love (or your own) from the insurance company if the perpetrator gets violent during the robbery (or rape, or whatever the case is). They just don't seem to use that Resurrection +6 scroll too often in my experience....

Maybe your insurance company is different, though.

How do you defend yourself? If someone comes into your home, what are YOU going to do? In my family, we shoot them.

There's a difference between having a weapon to defend your home and walking the streets with one. I condone the first, but not the other. Do what you want in your own home but when you're in public, leave your weapons at home.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

And nuclear weapons don't kill people, people kill people. Everyone should own at least one nuclear weapon for self defense. Target practice with nuclear weapons is also fun. Do it with your kids. Nuke an unimportant third world country to practice for real emergencies, like someone breaking and entering and going for your PC with the porn collection. Instead of simply getting the money back from your insurance, you must take the thief's life. While mass murder is a facet of nuclear weapons that the sissy media seems to focus on to spread their propaganda, everybody knows that nuclear weapons have many beneficial uses: like quickly transforming large areas of land into big glass parking lots. Why make nuclear weapons illegal. Criminals are going to own them illegaly anyway, so we might as well legalize them so lawful citizens can protect their families.

See, you're paranoid. Your guns don't keep "nutjobs" "outta" your house any more than pink elefants. I typically don't defend myself because I don't have to defend myself. That is one of the great accomplishments of civilisation.

What fairy tale gated community do you live in? I live in the real world, where people break into houses and people die. Let me know what city you live in so that I can move there and live in ignorant bliss also!

It's not paranoid. Even in good neighborhoods there are home-invasion robberies and other crimes.

And if they come in, I don't care what anyone says, he be dead.

Good luck with that. Behaviour like that will land you in jail for a long time, as it should do.

Actually, no, it is self-defense, as long as the entry wound is not in the back of the perpetrator.

It's like Ellen DeGeneres said in her standup bit (paraphrased):

Why shoot animals and mount their heads? If you want to mount something, mount something you are proud of, like the head of the robber you shot. "He came in, was going for the Sony. Shot him."

OK, apparently my (admittedly half-hearted) attempt to expose absurdity on one side by being absurd to the opposite degree was lost on you. My apologies.

Sarcasm is really hard on a message board...we need a special tag for it!

While you're at it, lock up cars, knives, ropes, bathtubs full of water, rat poison, arsenic, nurses with large doses of drugs, and people with strong muscles, because they all have been used to kill people, too.

I don't agree with you often, Warhawk, but I can usually understand where you're coming from and appreciate your logic. This little sentence, however, is probably the stupidest post in this thread (and that's saying a lot for *any* debate on the interwebs).

Please, before you so eagerly defend your faction's doctrine take the time to stop and think. You'll look like much less of a jackass if you bother to do that.

NP nin I wasnt serious, glad to see someone on the board doesnt feel the need for a gun. Guess society has a long way to go before we can be truly called civilized.
PS I do realize that less then 50% of americans are so bent on the right to bear arms, its just the massive NRA lobbying that keeps the US in the stone age.

Wow. I think it is you that is in the Stone Age. Right to bear arms my man.....no way around it. I am glad we have guns, keeps the nutjobs outta my house. And if they come in, I don't care what anyone says, he be dead.
