Most FPS games these days use a far too random spread for the first shot, I think if you are standing still you should always be able to put that first shot where you are aiming. Of course, the lagging hit-boxes makes this even worse. I'm waiting for an iron-sights HL2 mod...
It seems DoD has a better system than CS. The area hit in DoD seems a lot better also. Similiar system from what was used with Action series. The best part about the Action series was the area hit. "Hit **** in chest for x dmg". I hope this is put into affect in more mods. I like knowing where you hit/were hit. The AMX mod for DoD does allow some options for health taken away when hit - and will show you on the screen. Also has an option for "Best of" areas when the round is over.
