RPGs tend to have inferior replayability to action games in general Pardon?!? That's the most back-to-front remark I've ever seen in these forums. What kind of screwed-up RPGs have you been playing?!

I like "harsh" too, but can't stand 1up or Gamespot.
PC Gamer always seemed to rate things most in line with my tastes (unfortunately I'm too poor to subscribe anymore). |

IGN/Gamespy is not completely useless with its reviews, its just 50% useful (or useless depending on how you look at it).
If a game gets a high score from them, the game may or may not be good. However, if a game gets a low score from them, its very likely the game does indeed suck.

Gimpz0r, are you out on a mission or something? I don't think it's a secret anymore that game reviews are generally corrupt/biased/shallow, and those who don't know that will learn quickly after buying a crappy game based on them. To me, all the throngs of inevitably glowing praise reviews of WoW that are about to hit any day now will be just as much of a lie as these EQ2 reviews are to you.

Grading on a curve article confirms what I've been saying for years. IGN reviews & reviewers are a joke!

EQ2 review |

Oh look, another OOHH AHH EQ2 review
lets take a look at what normal players are REALLY saying after spending more than 30 minutes with it
"I'm only 18th level and already I really notice the grind in EQ2. I'm thinking it's even worse than EQLive, actually." "But I see almost no replayability in EQ2. Well, one replay, in the other city, to see their quests and stuff. RPGs tend to have inferior replayability to action games in general, and WoW with its stronger focus on action rather than rpg will probably follow that general rule and have more replayability." "For me, now that I have starting to hit the mid to upper teens, it is turning into more of the same mmorpg crap. Forced grouping to complete most of the quests that I receive. I had a lot of fun up to this point, and I got my money out of it. However, I don't think that I will be playing out the rest of the month, and I may give WoW a try even though I did not bother with the open beta."
