Best Buy is not the only one that has broken the release date.
In-fact I believe it was an EB that did it first. Wal Mart, Best Buy and EB have all broken the release and I'm sure many more. But this isn't the point. People are pissed at VU, not because the game hit shelves early, people are pissed because VU is threatening legal action againt Valve if they enable Activation early, which Valve wants to do.
Would I like it enabled early, yes. Do I care if it's not? No. But I knew what I was getting into when I pre-ordered on Steam. Once the product hits the shelves it's a whole different ballgame. There are going to be people unaware of the activation requirement and unaware of the Nov 16th release date. They are going to get home to play and find they can't.
