As evident by the moronic comments in this thread, many Americans today aren't willing to even inconvenience themselves, let alone make a personal sacrifice, for the protection or liberation of anyone else.
It's understandable considering that that the gov. does not care about protecting or liberating anyone. You just need to flash some cash and democracy & freedom don't mean a thing. China used to be the big bad evil enemy... Remember the jet slamming into a US recon plane et US soldiers being held in china?! How about the Tianan'men Square masacre? Now that China has opened it's markets to US investements no one cares about human rights violations in china. China has become the new eldorado! ( what % of stuff sold in wal maret is made in china?)
After Aristide was kicked out od Haiti the US said they would not recognaize a gouvernement that took power by force during a coup.... Well these same people have no problem recognizing the leader of Pakistan who took power in that fashion.
I could stay here for hours and post exemples of all the inconsistencies that make people outside the US wonder about the sanity of the people running the white house.
With those kinds of inconcistencies between what they say and what they do what do you expect.... You can't seriously expect people to put their life on the line for a gov. that lies throught it teeth every chance it gets.
The sad thing in all this, is that it's the American people who pay the price. The people are in the US are honorable hard working people. The gov. manipulates less educated or those who do not have access to info. to the point that politics has become a religion & people stop analysing the facts & just regurgitates party dogma. Kind of like those people who walked arround with posters saying "God laughs when fags die" after some kid got killed not realizing that they had crossed the line & became like the Taliban.
Anyways, I feel bad about the elections results... it's hard to watch such a great country fall apart.
