Metalheart: Replicants Rampage Demo Glitch

Also on the Akella Website (thanks Frans) is word that the Metalheart: Replicants Rampage demo that recently surfaced (story) was not intended for release:

As we have just learned, a “demo” of Metalheart: Replicants Rampage appeared in the World Wide Web not so long ago. It’s our duty to inform you that “Akella” is not responsible for this illegal distribution at all. This is not an official demo-version and it appears to be an incomplete fragment of 2003-year game build flooded with various errors.

This inconvenience has occurred due to frustrating misunderstanding between “Akella” and its partner that has mistakenly put the archive into the Web. The situation is being discussed and taken care of right now.

However, it won’t influence the date of release at all. It will happen in January 2005 as it was previously announced. For this very “demo” is not a complete and tested product, we’d appreciate much if you do not mind its appearance. The final version will be completely different regarding the total conversion of RPG system and many other aspects directly influencing the general game concept itself.

Paranoid I for one believe them as the file originated off a ftp server with only 15 slots available for download and there was no mention of the demo's existance on the website for 2 or 3 days.

I was looking forward to the game but I did not see any dialog trees in the portion of the demo that I played before I gave due to the crappy interface and translation. I am going to wait for some reviews on this one.

On the subject of foreign RPGS, I hope that Strategy First's impending doom does not kill our chances of seeing Golden Land translated.

Ya, downloaded it from Worthplaying with no problems. But the horribly translated dialogue was pitiful, to the point that I couldn't bother to play it for more than 15 minutes. If they don't hire someone competant to do the final translation, they can kiss their North American sales goodbye. It's a shame, because I quite like the look of the game.

Hey Paranoid, staying true to you name?

But seriously, that demo was indeed a pile of crap. I can't imagine somebody wants to publish that stuff. But if it's really some old Alpha, and they improve it for the 2005 release, this could become a fun game.

... lie your ass off. If you can't make the touchdown at least attempt the field goal, right?

In other words they put it out there... then they see the terrible reception it’s getting... so they claim they didn't unleash this crap onto the public.

Though I hope it is true, because this game has potential... if they can polish it up and straighten out the English dialog.

Yes, that demo was just horrible.
