Theres a great editorial over at the NJ Star Ledger site about O'Reilly:

http://www.nj.com/entertainment/ledger/index.ssf?/base/entertainment-0/109790498572540.xml

"The O'Reilly Factor" has ceased being a yap-fest and become a nightly spectacle of self-destruction, a chance to watch a powerful obsessive pour kerosene on the bonfire of his own ego.

My wife made more money than me (that's right Shane) when she quit her job.

Nice try, Bronco - you almost had me fooled, but I found an article on your new office:

You had to have the two-story indoor waterfall, didn't you?

Wow! Now there are two female readers of Blues News!

When this film first came on Blues, whenever that was, there were a lot of people asking the same thing and I don't think anyone came up with it. I like it too, it reminds me of something out of the soundtrack to The Fifth Element.

Rich is a great guy - I'v had lunch with him a couple of times and talked shop.

Just to set the record straight - Rich was injured in a scuffle, hand to hand, with a criminal. He wasn't shot - he twisted around while wrestling with the bastard and had something go 'pop'. He ended up with a lower spinal injury that prevented him from walking almost completely. He was doing much better for a while, able to walk with a cane, then things went back downhill for him - hip problems, the later the possibility of esophogal cancer. He has been in more or less constant pain for years because of it.

As to Gone Gold being gone - the entire staff that has been running the site since Rich had to back off has begun work on a new site, and the majority of the Gone Gold community has gone with them. The temporary URL is http://www.pcgamesforum.com

Right now it is just a forum for the refugee community, but a full site is in the works.

He could be part cat too.

True.

Get ready for a happier house. My wife made more money than me (that's right Shane) when she quit her job. Somehow we managed and now 5 of us are here.

Turned out to be a good thing considering one of our children ended up having a disability that requires a TON of extra work.

Good luck to the three of you.

I don't want this to sound mean, but isn't it nuts/wrong to work that much when you have a new/any kid?

It's certainly not advisable... and that goes for with or without a kid. Frankly, management is stupid to overwork their employees on that kind of basis long term.

That said, why do you think she resigned? Trust me, one of the major reasons was because she couldn't spend enough time with her family -- both the kid and myself.

Yes, it'll be very different... she's excited and scared. And while I'm absolutely positive that it'll be better for our family, it's not without sacrifice. She earned a rather considerable salary... more than I do in fact. But the salary became increasingly irrelevant.
