Battlefield: Vietnam Patch

As promised, the new patch for Battlefield: Vietnam is now available, updating DICE's military shooter to version 1.2. The large update adds three new maps, eight new vehicles, a new spectator mode, balance tweaks, bug fixes, and more. There is also a warning that the World War II mod must be installed prior to updating to version 1.2 in order to operate properly. Here's where the various editions of this update can be found:

btw i'll bet that if the bf42 sdk had been released the eod mod team would have made a much better game then bfv...i still think eod owns bfv

I've been playing quite a bit of Point of Existance lately. Man that's fun stuff.

all these battlefield mods suck ass...none of them have reloading animations for guns...thats like half the game right there gone..

Since Joint Ops came out I have not played BFV once and I'm sure this patch will not change that.

Yosarrian- I never use EAX because I have one of these...

I got my Audigy for the ASIO support...

As for the BFV support, DICE Canada has done a decent job... Fixing bugs and releasing free content. I think that is a far cry from supporting it "poorly."

Anyway, I am anxious to play some BFV tonight. It has been a good month or so...

Hope you like playing without EAX, anytime I have EAX enabled the game gets laggy and it seems to be the case with most other users. Glad I dropped 150 bucks down to use Miles Audio Drivers.

New tunnels would be cool but for some reason splash damage doesnt really work in them so RPGs are useless as well as the fact they are work like flares then RPGS as the second you shoot them they start to drop, they need viagra to keep them straight and on target.

I will never buy another game from DICE CANADA. This game was made poorly and supported poorly. I remember this game came out the same day as UT 2004 and UT is 100x better without any noticable problems and the support from the team is amazing, perhaps DICE canda could remove their heads from their butts long enough to take notes.

Battlefield Vietnam is the perfect example of the saying "You can't polish a turd" This game tried to ride the success of 1942 without trying to add anything to it, just seems like a weak attempt to cash in on it's popularity

6. Re: Graphic bug fixed? Oct 7, 2004, 16:24 Mr Gar

Along with 90% of ATI users I used to get horrible corruption but the first BF:Vietnam patch along with up to date ATI drivers fixed them all. Maybe the arseholes at Dice can work with other graphics card manufacturers before they release the game next time, but then it is an TWIMTBP game

I have a Tyan Tachyon 9700Pro and have no issues.
Then again, I never had any issues with BFV and video so I guess I have no clue what you are talking about.
I have a friend with a 9800 Pro that also has no issues.

4. Graphic bug fixed? Oct 7, 2004, 15:56 Raven737

Did they fix the graphics bug on 9xxx ATI video cards?
probably NOT, with ver. prior to 1.2 i can't play the game at all, after a few minutes it starts messing up the graphics, this is with the newest Cat4.9 drivers.
This game sucks, i still love BF1942 + DC though

And just an HOUR before I go to work ....
Damn ...
Oh well, time to use up some of that sick leave !!

-- Operation Cedar Falls is a new map that introduces tunnels to BFV.
Minimap changes when inside tunnels, and teammate icons only appear
if they are on the minimap the player is currently viewing (ie above
ground or tunnels). Tunnel flags appear in the minimap as vertical flags,
differentiating them from the regular horizontal flag.

-- Saigon 1968. Based during the Tet Offensive, the NVA have tunneled into the Saigon
Sewer system in an effort to overtake the Presidential Palace.

-- Fall of Saigon. It's spring 1975, and the NVA are moving quickly to attack Saigon as the USA
is finishing the final evacuations from Vietnam.

Let me just say that the addition of tunnel play is AMAZING !! Wow, my first try at it and I was impressed !!
The map change as you enter and leave the tunnels and the additional tunnel flags and tight quarters battle is great !
Nice job on this one my friends.
These 3 new maps alone will keep me busy for weeks !!
