I think it's a riot. Fuck MS, they deserve it.

While I'm a pretty big fan of the "fuck MS" camp, this is a pretty ugly waste of resources. But I guess it's a question of just how many CDs they had pre-pressed... I mean, it's not like they're burning a new CD everytime someone fills out an order form. They pressed x thousand copies (where x is probably pretty large), so if they don't send those out then they're just going into a landfill anyway.

And while, yes, I hate MS, I'll still admit that they're the best desktop OS out there. Linux is nowhere near ready for primetime -- and I say that using it daily. On the desktop and server. And as a Unix coder. Probably the next best desktop OS was OS/2 2.x/3.x, and it had a plethora of problems of its own (mostly installation related). Haven't used OS X, but Apple's mindset is going to prevent it from ever becoming truely mainstream.

But while it may be the best desktop, it still sucks. I'm just thankful that I don't have to support it.
