Out of the Blue

Just a little while ago I caught an odd little movement out of the corner of my eye, which I dismissed as my imagination when I could not locate its source. Minutes later I learned it was not my imagination at all, when a cricket began chirping in my office; I'm pretty sure the movement and the chirping stemmed from the same source. He's quieted down fairly quickly, but this could really get annoying pretty soon... especially since I am sufficiently messy to provide him with plenty of places up here to hide.

Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out

Here's one similar, from an email I got...

Out with the girls..........

The other night I was invited out for a night with "the girls". I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, "I promise!".

Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easy. Around 3a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the damn cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times. Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution (even when totally smashed), in order to escape a possible conflict with him.

The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, and I told him "Midnight". He didn't seem pissed off at all. Whew! Got away with that one!

Then he said, "We need a new cuckoo clock." When I asked him why, he said, "Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said, "Oh shit.", cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another 3 times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.

I love eBay. Where else can you find someone willing to pay $70 (once you include shipping) to get a gift certificate for $59.80 of services.

I don't need a study to tell me caffeine withdrawal is real. Try having a conversation with me any morning where I haven't had my coffee.

As generalizations go, one of the safest is that people who speak very much during their first cup of coffee in the morning have serious emotional disorders. And people who speak at all before their first cup are perverts.

Want to get a jump on the day? Good luck. The only way to do this is to approach it from ambush. Keep quiet. Let it think you're paying no attention at all, and it will get on with its chores.

The minute it has its back turned, cold-cock it with the coffee pot. That'll keep it out of your way.

28. ...try the veal Sep 30, 2004, 18:05 Killer Kane

Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they need to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone.

The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was lucky enough to salvage a large ribbon from a wreath that was on a grave and proceeded to wipe herself with it. After finishing, they made their way home.

The next day the first woman's husband phones the other husband and said, "These damn girls night out have got to stop. My wife came home last night without her panties."

"That's nothing," said the other. "Mine came back with a card stuck between the cheeks of her butt that said, 'From all of us at the Fire Station, We'll never forget you.'"

You know you play too many Stealth Shooters when...
I crept toward its lair, intent on taking back what is mine! Licking dry lips, I snuck toward the back of its hiding place, and shone my light in! (it was empty) Instinctively I swung the light around in a low arc, thinking the creature meant to attack me from behind,

The reason the Earth is humming is obvious, of course... it doesn't know the words. bah-dum-BUM.

The Bowie High School Marching Band plays no Bowie...I'm disappointed.

My HS marching band *can* do Bowie, and I'd charge A LOT less - - but then again I don't have that size of group (geez, everything is bigger in Texas ...)

Have we seen anything from the new company formed by some big-wigs leaving Blizzard? It's been a while now hasn't it?

funny, i just had this same thought a week ago... i went to their site, but nothing much of interest is posted... reminds me of when those guys left lucasarts and started their own company (something like Infinite Machine or somesuch) and they never did anything... here's hoping Roper and co put something out for us to enjoy someday... here's a link to the site:

edit: But him having to READ all the URLS aloud sure would suck for him... "Once again, that's H-T-T-P, colon, forward slash, forward slash,..." etc

Especially with the concussion and all....

19. Scott Muni Sep 30, 2004, 12:53 WalterEgo

I'll say it because perhaps most weren't aware of him. Scott Muni was cool as shit. He knew every rock star and got them all into his studio. He was a dinosaur when I was a kid which is a testiment to his staying power. His voice sounded like he gargled with rocks, but that only made it unique and instantly identifiable. Cool as shit.

But him having to READ all the URLS aloud sure would suck for him...

That was another funny part of the QuakeCast... recalling giving out URLs for mods with geocities domains and such that went on forever, had tildes, etc.

Good times...
