PoP2 Title

PlayStation.com reveals the official title of the next Prince of Persia game (thanks GameGossip), as PoP2, the game's working title, has already been used in a previous installment in the series. The title listed on the website is Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, harkening back to a plot twist in the original game.

That's only because your mind can't comprehend 4D graphics!

I actually have the first two PoP games around here somewhere on 5 1/2 disks...Let's see...EGA and VGA graphics on PoP, VGA only on PoP: The Shadow and the Flame.

This was the first major game to use an early form of motion-capture, called rotoscoping (spelling?) that took FMV and turning it into more basic frames of animation. Other titles used the same engine, including the Blackthorne (I've got that one too) and the first Flashback game (one of the best action-adventure games ever IMHO)

Damn...I would kill for a Flashback sequel (Imagine a cross between System Shock and PoP). They did do one 3D Flashback game, but it really, really sucked. It was at least on CDROM though.

Man, are these 5 1/2's collectors items yet?

I'm just glad they stopped calling it POP2.

That was beginning to get on my nerves, since I have played POP2, and by the looks of things, this game is anything but the same

yeah, I agree, looking forward to the game, but "warrior within"? How corny/generic is that?

The first one was awesome; it was truly a beautiful experience. It was like watching a cross between a ninja and olympic gymnast kicking but while pulling off extreme stunts.

Unfortunately, it was a really short game, and the re-playability (to me) is pretty low. I mean, I beat the game around Christmas, but I still remember the solutions to all of the "puzzles." The only thing drawing me back is to see if I can beat my "best time."

Here's to hoping the next one's a little longer.

I dunno, that title just seems a little weak to me for some reason. But I can't wait for the game! The first one was fantastic.

Does that mean you'll have to "fight" a mirror image of yourself in this one?
Looking forward to this, Sands of Time was a blast and the videos for this look very cool.
