I'm very mad about cards recently. Mainly cause I bought a GF FX5950 Ultra and the new line of cards were announced a month later. The price I paid for my Ultra, I could have gotten the X800. Sure it would have been nice to have the latest though I'm not worried one bit about how Doom 3 will run. Letme give you an idea. On my old 800mhz AMD Athlon with a Geforce 2 GTS 32mb and 512mb SDram, I was able to run the Alpha although I wouldn't recommend it
. Now since I've gotten my new rig(though not new nowadays), Pentium 4 2.6ghz 800Bus, 1024mb DDRam, geforce fx 5950 ultra, I tried the Doom 3 alpha again. It ran FLAWLESS. Keep in mind the Alpha was just about zero optimized for any video cards and system besides the one they used to to show it. The alpha version alone should give a hint(it was like 0.02). So after all this time I'm quite sure the final version has been optomized to hell. This will make me happy because now I know I can handle it perfect as it was in alpha state, plus put the graphics up to whatever it lets me. Cheers lads!
