Game Movies - DOOM 3

A DOOM 3 movie is now available, what looks like a direct-feed version of a G4/TechTV piece, though the clip does not seem to be on the network's own website. The move features various id principals discussing the game, including John Carmack and Kevin Cloud, along with some in game footage. The clip is available on Doom3Maps.de, with the 12 MB download mirrored on 3D Gamers, Doom3HQ.net, Gamer's Hell, GenGamers, and Tiscali Games. Update: A higher-resolution rendition of this movie is now available on some of these mirrors. Also, the Need for Speed Underground 2 Website now offers the E3 trailer from the upcoming streetwise installment in this hard-driving series. The clip is available in low and high resolutions.

It'd be a helluva good guess, but the quote sounded like they weren't even started yet.

So it's pretty much assumed that rtcw2 will be on the doom 3 engine? I can't wait to see what games are going to use the d3 engine.

Doh, it appears Hollenshead isn't in the video at all. Anyway, the best I can remember, Todd was talking about how they're going to get straight to work on their next game, and it's going to be a new intellectual property, the following is his words the best I can remember "We're not going to do a Doom IV, Raven is working on a Quake IV, and another company is working on something new with Return to Castle Wolfenstein."

It was pointed out after the clip cuts off. I think they said something like there was something else interesting in our footage, and I'm pretty sure they showed Todd saying that again, and afterwards exclaiming about it.

Pulse is on right now, the same episode, trying to find a microphone to record it :\

I saw it without a doubt, with my own eyes. It was on Pulse. Both anchormen (as unprofessional as they are) even pointed his words out. Let met grab the video here, maybe it was clipped, but it was on the TV show.

I'm guessing that the hardware requirements will be the same as for Thief3eadly Shadows, which is a graphics card with Pixel Shader 2.0 that began with nVidia's GeForce FX line, though the GeForce 3 Ti and GeForce 4 Ti were retro-fitted with the shader and would work fine as well.

Doom3 will also run on the original GeForce 256... although of course without all those nice shader effects.

RE: RTCW2

It was said directly by Todd Hollenshead (somoene is working on a new RTCW game, or something to that effect)

"PLEASE don't let that game suck..."

Well said. I have a feeling that it's impossible. Far from being any type of fanboy, I would have to say that ID's track record speaks for itself. It looks AMAZING, and the Alpha leak a year and a half ago was creepy enough, I can't imagine how scare the shit out you this game is going to be. UNLEASH THE EVIL!!!

i'm not pre-ordering because you know they'll have a pricing war when it comes out among the majors. i'll end up getting it at Best Buy who will price match and i can use my reward zone card to get some points.

trent quit the D3 project a while ago... that's why no one is talking about it.

I agree that sound is the most underrated part of games though.
