I actually completely downloaded this one, but only watched a part of it, at which point I realized I was seeing more than I wanted to.

I'm not even sure x800 or the 6000 line of cards have been imported yet either anways the stock would'nt be a tenth of what's to be found in the us.
I checked, and the cards are listed on kompletts website, but the date of in stock:) is listed as unconfirmed, basicaly that means, whenever. (kinda like the realease date of dnf or hl2.)
PS. (why can't I edit my post)

I'm sure he is. But I had a very bad experience with CUSA and video cards, and was out $60 because of it. I'll never buy a video card (or anything that I can get elsewhere) there again.

the lesson here is - always buy videocards at compusa with their replacement plan Or better yet, don't buy compusa at all, and get it at newegg...

I'm very mad about cards recently. Mainly cause I bought a GF FX5950 Ultra and the new line of cards were announced a month later. The price I paid for my Ultra, I could have gotten the X800. Sure it would have been nice to have the latest though I'm not worried one bit about how Doom 3 will run. Letme give you an idea. On my old 800mhz AMD Athlon with a Geforce 2 GTS 32mb and 512mb SDram, I was able to run the Alpha although I wouldn't recommend it . Now since I've gotten my new rig(though not new nowadays), Pentium 4 2.6ghz 800Bus, 1024mb DDRam, geforce fx 5950 ultra, I tried the Doom 3 alpha again. It ran FLAWLESS. Keep in mind the Alpha was just about zero optimized for any video cards and system besides the one they used to to show it. The alpha version alone should give a hint(it was like 0.02). So after all this time I'm quite sure the final version has been optomized to hell. This will make me happy because now I know I can handle it perfect as it was in alpha state, plus put the graphics up to whatever it lets me. Cheers lads!

If you had only waited, you could have snagged the x800!
Such is the price of progress. Also, 1GB ram is a little slim.

Sorry I just needed to toot my own horn here, and spacecaptain you need som serius help and alpha (when the version number read 0.02 that should be a clue) very far from any finsihed product(probably wrong thread) Looking forward to d3, hl2,ph33r etc,

Well they did mention you can use computer consoles to control machines, open doors, etc. Also the techtv movie had a few npcs in it, but I think the pcgamer review said their wasn't much in that respect.
as for the guy who can't get 32bit colour, it's probably because you're running 2 monitors at such a high resolution that you don't have enough memory on your video card to support that colour depth. All monitors support 32bit colour (they just don't display it).

32 bit colour is 24bit colour with an 8 bit alpha channel. so, if your monitor can do 24bpp, it can do 32bpp.
you guys need to diferentiate between what is your monitors limitation, and your graphics cards.

To me.. it looked like a perfect game ----> Graphically. But I wonder how interactive the environment is.. and if you get to see some NPC. So far it looks like you're the only surviror and all you have to do is blaze your way thru it, just like the original Doom.. but with the newest technolely. I'm waiting for the demo before I buy this game, cuz I ain't doin it for graphs only!

32 million colors? What standard is that? Are you talking about 10-bit per channel or what? There are no monitors which support 32 million colors. 16m is max
Well, according to my monitor settings there is something called "True Color" which is 32 bit perhaps he meant 32 bit color? How many colors do you get with 32 bit color?
2**32 = 4,294,967,296
