#88 PC games in the UK are £29.99 or £34.99 I think there's only ever been 1 or 2 released at 40 quid.
Over at http://www.doom3portal.com/ they had a post about a special edition which would be priced at £44.99 (not even console games are that much anymore), Amazon and places have the retail price listed at £40 too, but who knows for sure.

I wish they would list the system requirements. My computer SUCKS... but I managed to get FarCry to run (and not too badly), so maybe I can force Doom3 to run...

The original Doom began with Knee-Deep in the Dead, but it continued with The Shores of Hell, Inferno, then Thy Flesh Consumed. Is this just the first Episode?

Kick ass... just in time for my new machine build this weekend. I'm building a machine with ALL the new stuff in it. I only wish I could buy hardware that isnt out yet, so that my machine won't be old in 2 weeks when the game comes out (lol).

From updated .plan
"Mac & Linux: Unfortunately I don't have dates for either of these. However, Linux binaries will be available very soon after the PC game hits store shelves. There are no plans for boxed Linux games."
I'm looking forward to playing this on Linux, what are the changes of a) HL2 getting released 'this' sept and b) HL2 having a Linux port ????
Properly about the same as M$ releasing DirectX for Linux

Reading Todd Hollenheads .plan he's said the demo will be put together for a release shortly after the USA retail release (Aug 3rd). Mac OSX and Linux versions will follow ASAP, but the linux version will not be a retail box (?).
There is not going to be a DVD version, because of the costs involved of having two masters.
And on the subject of cost, why are you all bitching about a $55 price tag? The normal UK price tag for any PC game release is around £40 ($74) not £29 ($55).
Count yourselves lucky.
I've pre-ordered DOOM3 for £25 ($46) which is the cheapest new release I've bought since DOOM2 was released, at £20 ($37).
The whole "HL2 is better" crap from retards like Mr. Bleh, is just hysterical. If they want to be such fanboys, they should wait for the game to be released to make a genuine comparison, but the rational thought is a bit slippery for these individuals.
My philosophy is that DOOM3 is sex and HL2 is chocolate. Why should we choose? Have both!

AsLayer, you would do well to upgrade your video card to at least a Radeon 9800. You'll get to use a much better rendering path, and it should speed things up a great deal.

Why Doom is out before HL2 |

Fatboy Gabe calls Slim John Carmack.
Gabe: So who’s first? John: Well, us of course. Gabe: Good, cause we’re not ready. John: Didn’t think so. You guy’s still need more coding help? Gabe: Yes. I mean, we’re almost there, but yeah John can you? John: Okay, but we’re raising my profits to 5%. I’m getting sick of practically making your game for you. Gabe: That’s a little unfair. We have artwork and storyline that we do on our own. John: But the game doesn’t work. Hmmm. Gabe: Yeah, well your nose is pointed up buddy. Looks like two holes in your face every time I look at you. John: So, you’re fat. Not just fat, you put the O in obese. You’re so fat they’ll have to bury your ass in a piano case, and fork lift your butt that’s hanging out of it. Gabe: Shut up. John: Gonna cry again. I hate it when you cry, it just makes you seem even more pathetic if that’s possible. Gabe: I’m not gonna cry. John: Okay. Gabe: It’s just… th… tha… that.. you don…don’t res…spect me… John: You suck kid. Sorry. Gabe: Oh… oh… kay. Ya… you.. putting the ga… game out first then? John: yeah, yeah, wipe your eyes bitch. And wipe your ass while you’re at it you fat fuck. Gabe: That’s mean. John: 5%.: John: Bitch.

DOOM 3 Demo Confirmed |

From Todd's new .plan...
Demo: our priority was finishing the game first and now we are turning our attention to the demo. I don't have any information to share regarding any specific content, but I don't believe that we have ever disappointed in that regard in the past. We will release the demo as soon as it's done, but this probably won't happen until after the game has arrived on U.S. store shelves. http://www.gamefinger.com/plan.asp?userid=toddh&id=16245
